Hello fashion lover. How's everyone doing this evening? hope you all are doing great! Today, I'm thrilled to share another creative DIY idea on how I turned a jumpsuit into 2 piece. Let's get creative.😊
My friend's Mom bought a jumpsuit for my sister in Port Harcourt and gave her as a gifts. She tested it at home, it was too big and my sister didn't like it. She called me and said she would have given it to me if we were the same size. I told her to give it to me, if it's not my size, I'll make it fit. She asked 'how'?. I said, watch and learn.
THE MATERIAL USED FOR THE JUMPSUIT;
- ZIP
- SCISSOR
- MY TAPE
- RULER
HOW I TURNED THIS OVERSIZED JUMPSUIT INTO A FITTED 2 PIECE.
- I brought out the jumpsuit and placed it on the floor, I started by cutting off the half length with my scissors,then I cut out the trouser part.
- After cutting it out, I removed the zipper from the top and trouser parts to reuse it for my skirt. Then, I separated the pieces. I measured the length where I want my skirt to stop.
- I measured the upper part and then stitched it up with my machine. Instead of the zipper, I created a loop hole at the back. I spaced the loops 1 inch apart and stitch it up. I made a rope for my loop and fix it.
- When I finished the upper part. This was my outcome.
- Next, I worked on the trouser part, I cut out the crotch part to transform It into a skirt. I took my measurement and stitched it up on my machine. Instead of buying another zip, I reused the zipper from the jumpsuit. I attached it to the skirt and here's the result.
THIS IS MY FINAL LOOK
I styled it with a yellow jacket, paired it with my tote bag and flat shoes, giving it a model streetwear look. I just love the color blocking and the way it pairs together. Yellow and black balance with this feeling of happiness, boldness and a touch of elegance. yellow color can be combined with some colors, though not many colors. Who else loves color combinations? I do. Color Combinations have a way of triggering emotions, passion and excitement.
