Hello my lovely fam At @diyhub. Welcome back to my blog. Guess what? We are exploring new stitch today. This stitch was an assignment from a 🧶 crochet community group where i learn everyday.
Yeah! I know it might look difficult but trust the process cause in today step by step guide, you all will be exploring "this beautiful 😍 extreme drop stitch with me where texture meets drama"❤️.
MATERIALS USED
- Yarn
- 3.5mm hook
- Scissors
- stitch marker
BELOW ARE THE STEP BY STEP PROCESS
NOTE: There are words you will be coming across more often in this process which are: chains, double crochet, turn work, and yarn over.
STEP 1: I made a slip knot.
STEP 2: I chain a total of 14 chains and add extra 3 chains.
STEP 3: For row 1, I made a double crochet in the fifth stitch from the hook. Then, I place double crochet in each stitches until the end of the row.
STEP 4: For row 2 and 3, I chain up 3, turn my work and I place double crochet until the end of the row.
STEP 5: I fasten off my yarn and attach the second yarn cause i want to mix 2 colours. Believe me, I am not so good with colour combo. But i decide to trust my instinct on this one🤗.
STEP 6: For row 4, I chain up 3, turn my work over, then I place 4 double crochet in the first 4 stitches. I chain up 2 and at this point, I will be needing a stitch marker. But in the absence of Stitch marker, I made use of a colored yarn as a stitch marker in this assignment to mark the holes for the extreme drops.
STEP 7: The space below the fourth double crochet is the first leg. By counting from the right to left in the row 3 leaving 5 space behind. Then in the fifth space i place my marker.
- For the second leg, I count the space between the double crochet from right to left In the second row. So I count 6 space and in the sixth space, I insert my marker.
- For the third leg, I count 7 spaces from the first row and in the seventh space, I insert my marker.
- For the fourth leg, I skip the space above the third leg and I insert my marker.
- And the fifth leg, I skip the space above the fourth leg and insert my marker in the next space.
STEP 8: Now I have mark the space for the extreme drops. So in the first leg, I yarn over, insert my hook to the space, yarn over and i pull through. Into that same space, I yarn over again, insert my hook, yarn over and pull through. ( That means i place my Extreme drops twice in that space).
STEP 9: Into the second leg, I repeat the yarn over pull through. Also 2 extreme drops.
STEP 10: In the third leg, I repeat the yarn over pull through but this time it was 3 extreme drops.
STEP 11: For the fourth and fifth leg, I repeat the same yarn over pull through but 2 extreme drops just like the first and second leg.
Then, I yarn over and pull through all loops and remove my stitch marker.
STEP 12: I chain up 3, Then I place 3 double crochet in the next 3 stitches right after the fifth stitch. And then, I chain up 2.
STEP 13: Again, I mark up the space for the next extreme drops just like before. Then, I repeat previous steps until the end, Then, I place 5 double crochet for the remaining last stitches.
AND THIS IS HOW OUR EXTREME DROP STITCH IS LOOKING
STEP 14: I added 1 more row of extreme drop stitch with the exact same process.
AND I GOT THIS BEAUTIFUL 😍 EXTREME DROP STITCH.
