Hello everyone welcome back to my blog. Guess what i will be doing today!!. I came across this beautiful lemon peel stitch.
This stitch was an assignment from the community where i learn new stitches
And i love it, so pretty. I know Learning new stitch can be exhausting but trust me this one is very simple.
NOTE: I am making this stitch with 2 beautiful yarns. 1 with double strand, and the other with single strand. So i will need you all opinions on which colour of yarn is pretty for my next project.
There are words you will be coming across more often in this process which are: Chains,Single crochet, Double crochet, and turn over.
Material used: 3 balls of yarn, 3.0mm hook, and a pair of scissors.
Below are the step by step process:
STEP 1: I will be making use of the double strand for this process which is the lemon green. Well, lemon for lemon.. haha. So firstly i made a slip knot.
STEP 2: I made a foundation chain of 20. You can make 40 or 60 depending on how long you want the length to be. But always remember to use an even number for your foundation chain.
STEP 3: For the base, in the second chain on the hook, i made a single crochet, and in the next chain i made a double crochet. In the next chain another single crochet, and in the next another double crochet.
STEP 4: So i continue to alternate single crochet in the next chain and double crochet in the next chain across the row.
STEP 5: On the very last stitch, i ended the row with double crochet. Then i chain 1 and turn my work over.
STEP 6: To start the row 2, i go into the first stitch with a single crochet, and in the next stitch with a double crochet. And just like the first row, I alternate single crochet in the next and double crochet in the next across the row.
(Ensure to start with single crochet and end with a double crochet)
Then on the last stitch of row 2, i ended the row with a double crochet, chain 1 and turn over my work.
I continue with that process Alternating single crochet and double crochet. Starting with single crochet and ending with double crochet, then on the last stich, chain 1 and turn over your work (Very simple and easy right? Yeah i know!!.)
And finally the End Result of the 2 beautiful yarn
Wow crochet is beautiful. Well since this post is just about the stitch, so i made it a short project.
I will be expecting your reviews on which colour is beautiful for my project.
This stitch is pretty for projects like: Blankets, pillow covers, tote bags, cardigans and headbands. Trust the process
Thank you so much for joining me here today.
