We wanted to start this series A SHOT OF DRINK, as a way to learn more about the drinks of the world, through their ephemeris; and although we are not experts or connoisseurs of the material, we consider that the world of drinks, juices, teas, cocktails, smoothies and others, is very exciting and varied, and some general culture is good for all of us. So from now on and regularly, we will be presenting these posts, with the intention that we all learn a little and exchange opinions. Let's go then with our first post.

May 8: Coca-Cola Day
Although it is a fizzy and sugary drink, whose consumption in excess is not healthy, it is also one of the most famous sodas worldwide; and although in its beginnings it was conceived as a medicine for the stomach, with the passing of time it became a soft drink, a soda. Let's see some peculiarities of Coca-Cola.
Its creator was John S. Pembertom, an American, a resident of Atlanta, and a pharmacist by profession.
Pembertom created Coca-Cola as a syrup for stomach upsets, but with the idea that it would provide energy to whoever drank it.
The first glass of Coca-Cola was sold on May 8, 1896, in the pharmacy owned by its creator, located in Atlanta, United States.
The internationalization of Coca-Cola occurred in the year 1897.
During the first years of the 20th century, this soft drink was produced and bottled in many countries, but each plant had a different bottle, so a contest was held to choose the bottle and the logo; the winner being the Contour Bottle that is still valid.
Coca-Cola cans were created in the 1940s, because the US troops fighting in World War II required an easier and safer way to transport this soda.
