Hi everyone! This is my first post in this lovely community of drink lovers. I have been a member here for almost two months now, but when I discovered this space, I felt that I had to share my own drink recipes with you. Life caught up with me in between. My son recently had an operation for a bone dislocation. So, each day is difficult, but he is recovering great! While I continue to learn my way into it, here is the first drink I'd like to share with you. With age, changes happen in our bodies and what we were able to do as younger adults, becomes harder. I am into my 40s now, and one thing I have observed is that every time I wake up, I almost always have a bloated tummy. It is not the nicest way to start the day and feeling it; however, over the years, I have learned to cope with it by making an after-wake drink that is very quick and refreshing to soothe my tummy and make me good again. I make this drink a daily routine, and I would love to share it with all of you. Simple, quick, and so, so very effective! The moment dawn breaks, and I wake up to prepare myself for the day, I head to the kitchen. I collect simple, basic ingredients that will probably be in your fridge already: one cucumber, two green apples. Very easy to find! And one thing is for sure-they are really effective because they are full of healthful properties!
After blending, I strain the mixture to let's say: keep any bits of skin or pulp out, yielding a smooth liquid concoction. The aspect of straining here is very important, as I do not want this juice to agitate my stomach while providing me with maximum nutritional value. This drink should, at best, be ingested quickly, preferably within five minutes, to maximize the nutritional benefit of those nutrients before they deteriorate. I love this drink because it is not only good for a softening of the relations on a bloated tummy, but also for detoxing your whole body.

Both cucumbers and green apples have properties that contribute toward detox. When combined, it holds very good nutritional standing and works as a power drink. Cucumbers are almost all water; that, plus the vitamins and Fibre from apples, is what helps digestion. A simple and, yet, powerful mixture that cleanses your body and gives you that fresh feeling. I can feel the difference within seconds of drinking this blend. It is not just mere relief from the bloating though; I feel alive and refreshed thereafter, what with that cucumber freshness and the tartness of the apples. Yes, I normally do end up burping after that but that just means my digestive system has finally been given a push in there to get some work done! After drinking this, I usually wait about 15 minutes before fixing breakfast. At that point, I feel like my stomach has been soothed and settled so I am at my best in eating.
