Coincidentally, I'm currently on an intermittent fasting diet and I'm reducing my carbohydrate intake. Even so, I still consume fewer carbs than before. Oats are one of my choices when I have breakfast. Usually I make overnight oats, smoothies or oat pancakes, but suddenly I wanted to try making my own oatmilk at home.
In Indonesia, there are lots of people who sell oatmilk, usually the price is quite more expensive compared to fresh milk.
After trying to make it, it turned out to be very easy, and the taste was no less delicious than the one we bought. Only this time I didn't use added sugar or sweetener, it really tastes plain, if you want to add sweetener you can use sugar or honey.
Immediately, I will share with you how I make my own oatmilk at home.
Ingredients
100 grams instant oats
250 ml drinking water
1 tsp vanilla powder can be replaced with vanilla extract
How to make
• pour the oats into a blender glass then add vanilla powder and water.
• Blend the oats for a few moments until everything is mixed like making juice.
• After the oats are mixed, pour the oats into the bottle and it's ready to use.
Results
This homemade oat milk can be stored in the refrigerator and will last for 2 - 3 days. My advice is that you use the oat milk immediately and don't store it for too long to maintain the quality of the oatmilk. you can add cocoa powder.
Oatmilk is also very delicious when you enjoy it with coffee. Usually, if you go to a coffee shop, many people sell coffee with oatmilk, if you use oats at home and process them into your own oatmilk, of course you can also make your own oatmilk coffee at home.
