These last few days I have felt a little flu-like and with a sore throat, which has caused me to consume a lot of liquids and soups.
So yesterday I made myself a drink to relax, hydrate and raise my defenses a little.

Estos últimos días me he sentido un poco engripada y con molestias en la garganta, me ha provocado consumir mucho líquido y sopas.
Así que el día de ayer me preparé una bebida para relajarme, hidratarme y subir un poco mis defensas.
A warm chamomile tea can be very comforting in these situations, of course it will not cure the flu by itself, however, it has anti-inflammatory and sedative properties that can help minimize the symptoms and contribute to the recovery process.
I sweetened it a little with piloncillo to give it a pleasant flavor, I also added a little ginger to soothe the irritation in the throat and a little orange juice to add vitamin C and a delicious citrus flavor.
Let's get to the preparation of this comforting infusion.
Una infusión tibia de manzanilla puede ser muy reconfortante en estas situaciones, claro que por sí sola no va a sanar la gripe, sin embargo, tiene propiedades antiinflamatorias y sedantes que pueden ayudar a minimizar los síntomas y contribuir al proceso de recuperación.
La endulcé un poco con papelón o piloncillo para darle un sabor agradable, también añadí un poco de jengibre para aliviar la irritación en la garganta y un poco de jugo de naranja para agregarle vitamina C y un sabor cítrico delicioso.
Vamos entonces a la preparación de esta reconfortante infusión.
Ingredients for 2 glasses:
- 2 tablespoons dried chamomile.
- 2 juicy oranges.
- 1 small piece of ginger (I used about the size of half my thumb).
- 3 cups of water.
- A small piece of piloncillo to taste to sweeten.
Ingredientes para 2 vasos:
- 2 cucharadas de manzanilla seca.
- 2 naranjas jugosas.
- 1 trocito de jengibre (yo usé aprox. el tamaño de la mitad de mi dedo pulgar)
- 3 tazas de agua.
- Un trocito de piloncillo al gusto para endulzar.
Surely we all know how to make an infusion, first we put the water to heat. While it was heating, I grated the ginger.
When the water began to boil, I lowered the heat to minimum, added the piloncillo, the chamomile and the grated ginger. I covered the pot for about 5 minutes and that was enough time for the infusion, I let it rest until it became lukewarm.
Seguro que todos sabemos hacer una infusión, primero colocamos el agua a calentar. Mientras se calienta, aproveché de rallar el jengibre.
Cuando el agua comenzó a hervir bajé a fuego mínimo, agregué el piloncillo, la manzanilla y el jengibre rallado. Tapé la olla por unos 5 minutos y listo, con ese tiempo fue suficiente para la infusión, dejé reposar hasta entibiar.

I strained the infusion when it was warm and squeezed the oranges. It was just a matter of stirring and serving.
Colé la infusión cuando estuvo tibia y le exprimí las naranjas. Ya solo era cuestión de remover y servir.

As I said at the beginning, a comforting drink, even the preparation and process of photographing kept me distracted from the discomfort for a while..
Tal como lo dije al principio,una bebida reconfortante, incluso su preparación y proceso de fotografiar me mantuvo distraída del malestar un rato.
