Today I come to share a really delicious recipe that a friend of mine recently told me about. Cooked pineapple and oatmeal, from the aroma as it warms up to the moment of drinking, it is a delight.

Hoy vengo a compartir una receta realmente deliciosa que me indicó una amiga recientemente. Piña y avena cocidas, desde el aroma mientras se va calentando hasta el momento de beber, es todo un deleite.

A few weeks ago I shared a recipe for pineapple and oatmeal that I saw on the networks, however, in that recipe the ingredients are used without previous cooking and it is promoted as a healing drink more than anything else, although it still has a nice flavor, the drink I share today is another level of flavor, much more.

This time, using as a base the same ingredients, but changing the way of preparation, the result in terms of flavor has been very different, much more delicious, really delicious, also this time I did not use cinnamon or vanilla, but I did use the pineapple shell. There were only 3 ingredients for the final preparation: pineapple, oatmeal and sugar, an irresistible combination.

Hace unas semanas compartí una receta de piña y avena que vi por las redes, sin embargo, en esa receta se usan los ingredientes sin previa cocción y es promocionada como bebida curativa más que todo, aunque no deja de tener un agradable sabor, la bebida que comparto hoy es otro nivel de sabor, mucho más.

Esta vez, usando como base los mismos ingredientes, pero cambiando la forma de preparación, el resultado en cuanto a sabor ha sido muy diferente, mucho más delicioso, realmente delicioso, además esta vez tampoco usé canela ni vainilla, pero si usé la concha de la piña. Fueron solo 3 ingredientes para la preparación final: piña, avena y azúcar, una combinación irresistible.

Ingredients for 1 liter // Ingredientes para 1 litro:

2 pineapple wheels cut into chunks.
Half of the pineapple peel cut into large pieces, previously washed very well and disinfected with lemon and baking soda or vinegar.
Half a cup of oat flakes.
3 tablespoons of sugar.
4 cups of water.

2 ruedas de piña cortadas en trozos.

La mitad de la cáscara de la piña cortada en trozos grandes, previamente lavada muy bien y desinfectada con limón y bicarbonato o vinagre.

Media taza de avena en hojuelas.

3 cucharadas de azúcar.

4 tazas de agua.

Preparation // Preparación:

I put the pineapple chunks, pineapple shell pieces and oatmeal to cook with 3 cups of water. When it started to boil I lowered the flame and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently so it would not stick to the pot.

Coloqué a cocinar los trozos de piña, los trozos de concha de piña y la avena con 3 tazas de agua. Cuando empezó a hervir bajé la llama del fuego y dejé cocinar por unos 20 minutos, removiendo con frecuencia para que no se pegara en la olla.

I let it cool and removed the shell pieces with the help of a spoon. I added the rest of the preparation to the blender cup and as the shell pieces were soaked in oatmeal, I added the other cup of water, stirred and added this water to the preparation to take advantage of everything.

Dejé enfriar y retiré los trozos de concha con la ayuda de una cuchara. Agregué el resto de la preparación al vaso de la licuadora y como los trozos de cáscara estaban impregnados de avena, le agregué la otra taza de agua, removí y añadí esta agua a la preparación para aprovechar todo.

I then blended the result of the cooking, with the exception of the conch, although my friend told me that she also includes it in the blending, I preferred not to do it. I added the sugar while continuing to blend and finally strained the preparation for a smooth texture.

Licué entonces el resultado de la cocción, con excepción de la concha, aunque mi amiga me contó que ella también la incluye en el licuado, yo preferí no hacerlo. Agregué el azúcar mientras continuaba licuando y finalmente colé la preparación para una textura suave.
