Today I'm here to share an incredibly delicious drink that reminds me a lot of my childhood, even though I rarely drank it at that time in my life. Just the smell of it was something that everyone at home loved on the few occasions it appeared on our table.
Hoy vengo a compartir un bebida excesivamente deliciosa que me recuerda mucho a mi niñez, aunque escasas veces la consumí en esa época de mi vida, tan solo su olor era algo que nos encantaba a todos en casa las pocas veces que estaba en nuestra mesa.
It was quite expensive for my mother's pocket at the time, but looking at it from my current perspective, I think it was the best thing. Now I believe we had just the right amount at the time to give us an occasional treat. Now I think ultra-processed foods are not the best for our health, but I also believe that once a year doesn't hurt; on the contrary, it can give us a delicious, very delicious moment.
Cerelac can be prepared either hot or cold. You can adjust the amounts of milk and Cerelac depending on whether you want it thicker or thinner, although if you've never prepared it before, it's best to follow the instructions on the package and then adjust to taste.
These days, I prepared both versions, and that's exactly what I'm here to share today 😉
Para el bolsillo de mi madre era bastante costoso en ese momento, sin embargo, viéndolo desde mi punto de vista actual, creo que fue lo mejor, ahora creo que tuvimos las dosis justas en ese momento para darnos un esporádico gustazo de sabor, ahora creo que los alimentos ultraprocesados no son los más idóneos para la salud, pero también opino que una vez al año no hace daño, por el contrario, puede darnos un momento delicioso, muy delicioso.
El Cerelac se puede preparar tanto caliente como frío, se ajustan las cantidades de leche y Cerelac dependiendo si se desea más o menos espeso, aunque si nunca lo has preparado es mejor seguir las instrucciones del empaque y luego ajustar al gusto.
Estos días preparé ambas versiones y esto es justamente lo que vengo a compartir hoy 😉
Ingredients for 1 cup of hot Cerelac:
- 3 tablespoons of powdered milk.
- 3 tablespoons of Cerelac.
- 1 tablespoon of sugar.
- 1 cup of filtered water.
Ingredientes para 1 taza de Cerelac caliente:
- 3 cucharadas de leche en polvo.
- 3 cucharadas de Cerelac.
- 1 cucharada de azúcar.
- 1 taza de agua filtrada.

This recipe is so simple that all you have to do is mix the ingredients together. I did it by hand with a whisk. Then I put it on the stove over medium heat and stirred constantly until it was very hot. With these steps, my cup of hot Cerelac was ready.
Esta preparación es tan sencilla que basta solo con mezclar los ingredientes mencionados, yo lo hice a mano con un batidor de globo. Luego llevé a la cocina a fuego medio y removí constantemente hasta que estuvo muy caliente y listo ya con estos pasos estuvo lista mi taza de Cerelac caliente.

Now the cold version
Cold Cerelac is delicious with certain fruits; peaches go very well with it, for example, although this time I added strawberries, which also go perfectly with this product.

El Cerelac frío queda delicioso con algunas frutas, por ejemplo el melocotón le va muy bien, aunque esta vez le he añadido fresas que también combina perfectamente con este producto.
For this version, we will use practically the same proportions of ingredients, in addition to strawberries, but let's take it step by step.
Para esta versión usaremos prácticamente la misma proporción de ingredientes, además de las fresas, pero mejor vamos por paso.
Ingredients for 1 glass of Cerelac smoothie with strawberries:
- 3 tablespoons of powdered milk.
- 3 tablespoons of Cerelac.
- 1 tablespoon of sugar.
- 6 medium strawberries.
- 1 cup of cold filtered water.
Ingredientes para 1 copa de merengada de Cerelac con fresas:
- 3 cucharadas de leche en polvo.

- 6 fresas medianas.
- 1 taza de agua fría filtrada.

If you have a blender, preparing this smoothie is very easy. Just blend all the ingredients thoroughly and it will be ready to serve in a few minutes 😉
Si tienes una licuadora, la preparación de esta merengada es muy sencilla, basta con licuar muy bien todos los ingredientes y en pocos minutos está lista para servir 😉

It becomes so thick that the strawberry slices don't sink. Depending on your taste, you can add more water and a little more milk, or prepare it directly with liquid milk to taste.
Personally, I like it this way, very thick.
Queda tan viscosa que las láminas de fresa no se hunden, dependiendo del gusto de cada quien se le puede agregar más agua y un poco más de leche o preparar directamente con leche líquida al gusto.
En lo personal, me gusta así, bien espesa.
Both versions are delicious, whether served hot or cold. I used the Cerelac packet I bought to enjoy each one, and I don't know when I'll have a craving like this again 😅
Ambas versiones son deliciosas, tanto la fría como la caliente. Yo aproveché el sobre de Cerelac que compré para disfrutar cada una, no sé en que momento vuelva a tener un antojo como este 😅
