On the whole crypto is very extractive -- we take, we profit, we care not who we crush; it's dog eat dog and unkind.
The hardest crypto-hodlers will know that when they ventured into this space with bright eyes and bushy tails they were soon to be crushed by uncaring ego's and laughed at as their dreams were smashed into the dust.
The first death is always the hardest.
But this is the life we have carved for ourselves in the crypto world. If I win, then sadly you have to lose.
Even I have shed my naivety as of late and just seen the institution for what it is -- extractive.
I'd even go as far to say the world is like that; money is on the whole taken, it's not given. It's there to be spent -- not shared with your fellow human.
And this has just became worse and worse as humanity has pivoted to a more isolatory nature; where the solitary is heralded as the new way -- we are richer now and we can survive on our own better, we don't need anyone else to help us.
Individualism is in, collectivism is out.
We see the end result of this with the social movements in male and female spaces.
"I don't need no man"
"I'm going my own way, MGTOW all the way!"
But what these movements fail to understand that in their pursuit of broader individualist ideals, they've went head first, straight into a collectivist group hive mind.
Humanity right now is craving the shared experience because we've all but rubbed it out of our lives.
We no longer stop and talk to the neighbour anymore, or stop and talk to the old man walking alone, lonely.
When I was a kid it was natural to get a thick ear for acting up out on the streets by an elder -- the parents in the community parented in a broader sense, but now? Don't even think about it.
This is why we see the "ists" and the "isms" popping up everywhere -- everyone rushing into something collectivist to get a feel of the shared experience, to be part of something bigger than themselves.
It's just a shame that those groups at the core are extractive themselves -- there is no wider benefit to the pursuit of individualist ideals from a shared mind. It's soup thinking.
I feel this shift when money moved from being "backed" by something (like Gold) to being debt based.
In the past money moved like shared wealth. If you received a $1 note it was like getting a piece of the backed reserves.
But now? That's all gone.
Money is now debt based.
People think the way money works is that ten men work hard all their lives and put money into a pot -- and ten people do nothing all their lives and take money out of that pot, but no, that is actually not how money works currently.
It's extractive.
The Government prints IOU's, it doesn't issue money. We are supposed to pay that back through taxes, labour, and interest.
And it's not backed by anything anymore. That's why our Governments can print endless amount of money. That's why goods and services are going up in price..
Because they are just issuing more IOUs that you need to pay back.
And yet, we created crypto -- the new world. And what did we do?
We just built the old world on the new -- nothing has changed, just the guard has. Still elite circles, the privileged holders, communities are extracted from rather than built upon.
But it doesn't have to be.
It really doesn't.
Like I mean hive was build for this shit -- we reward artists with stake. There's HUGE value in that.
Crypto doesn't need to be a competitive sport -- but sometimes it really feels like it is.
What do we do at hive? Bitch about rewards and never really ask proper artists -- you know, like the people that can actually do this shit properly -- what they want to see?
But that's not your fault, it's just the way crypto is.
But I'm going to change it all.

We change.
