Editorial
It has always been "the journey" that fascinates me. Well, I just lied or rather told you a half-truth. It is the planning of the journey that's where it starts, and to me, that is almost equally rewarding as the journey itself. So, there was a time when I used to travel often, alone, and with friends sometimes. I remember during one of our train journeys, we were chatting about planning a trip. There was a fellow passenger, who got interested in our animated conversations, and asked; if we are planning for the trip we are going to. It took us a moment to realize what the gentleman was asking; and then when it hit me; I immediately said… Oh, NO, NO! …This is the next trip we are planning for. This trip was planned months in advance, perhaps during the previous trip!

As you read the 3rd issue of Turni, just want to remember, the way this journey perhaps started. Following the beginning of one of my favorite movies, The Motorcycle Diaries, we may write:
The Plan: To help our community to elevate itself from being just a regional niche
The Method: Improvisation
Objective: Explore every corner of this blockchain and beyond; make friends
Equipment: Our mind and our fingers on keyboard; writing and drawing tools
The Pilot: @reazuliqbal
The co-pilots: @zayedsakib, @linco, @simplifylife
Support: The whole community and numerous contributors
This is not a story of heroic feats, or merely the narrative of a cynic; at least I do not mean it to be. It is a glimpse of two lives running parallel for a time, with similar hopes and convergent dreams….. Ernesto ChÈ Guevara, The Motorcycle Diaries
If we just replace the word 'two' with 'several'…. We have Turni.
I know some of us are cynic, while others are positive; but together we balance each other. Standing at this point in life and at this present world, we feel the need for balance both in our delivery and in our longings. In today's comfortable world, we take many things as granted, and we tend to forget our pasts. How is it even possible to feel nostalgia for a world we never knew? Today, as I write this, it is August 15th. In the sub-continent, that is an important date. It is a date of both joy and sorrow. It is a date of both hope and despair. It's been 73 years since that date. It is difficult to understand that date and its significance clearly for most of us today. Our feelings are likely to be mixed. However, on that date, the social architecture of the sub-continent changed permanently, and therefore, it remains relevant today.
I know there were millions of people who took that arduous journey for a number of years, without knowing the outcome, the timeline, or economic gains. But they did that journey anyways. Today, our journey is nothing compared to that journey, but it is still a quest. We are just excited to be a part of it.
Featured
This here is our piece de resistance. So, to promote engagement and a little self-branding, we have come up with an initiative that we simply called Featured. And we are very excited about this portion of the magazine.
Every week, one talented author will have the opportunity to contribute an article/an original piece of theirs for the magazine, while showcasing one of their best posts from the week. The willing writers will have an opportunity to add to the magazine a few words about any topic that they choose and be a 25% beneficiary of the magazine.
How To Get Featured
In the first step, you decide whether you want to get featured. Once you've made up your mind, you have to apply by submitting one of your articles from last week. Choose the piece you deem to be your best work for the week, as this will play a significant role in you getting featured or not.
Application Window
There will be a two day period to submit your application. It must be submitted by dropping a link to your post in the #Featured-Magazine channel on the BDCommunity Discord Server.
Once the application window has closed, @linco, @simplifylife, and @zayedsakib will choose three authors from all the submissions. And @azircon will choose one winner from those who will get featured in our weekly magazine.
The featured author for the week will be announced during the weekly voice meeting. They will then have two days to complete their piece for the magazine and submit to the officials.
The author who gets featured in the weekly magazine will be set as a 25% beneficiary, meaning 25% of the magazine's liquid payout will go to the featured author.
This Weeks Featured author - @linco
Improvement is something we should always strive for. Our ambassador Linco has set the perfect template for anyone who wishes to set the bars too high, even for themselves! In this post, the author has chosen to depict the lost ways of the youth of our generation. He has subtly tipped his hat to all the meritorious lives lost to silly feuds, that has become far too common in the society.
The Father of the nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is not only a name he is our pride, father of the nation, one of the greatest leaders in the history who had given his whole life for the people of Bangladesh. His whole life is an excellent lesson for all of us. His contribution to the independence of the Bengali nation is inconvincible.
August 15th 1975, the day we lost our father of the nation, the whole country was crying except those who were behind this horrible incident. He never believed that he would be killed by his own people. We lost him, but the lesson, the courage, and the fighting spirits he showed us can't be forgotten. He showed us that anything can be achieved if you really want to accomplish that.
The great sacrifice comes with a great cause. Now it is time for the youth to stand up, take responsibility, and show this world that we are Bengali, and we can do anything. We should follow the path shown by our father of the nation and build a great nation. This will be a great achievement for us. And it will be the greatest gift for our father of the nation.

Ever Stopped for a moment and wondered, what is that one thing that motivates someone to become a doctor? Well, if we hit up a doctor by asking that, they might get modestly humbled and say I want to cure diseases, do good, help the humanity yadi yada and so on. But in reality, it is all that and more! Like, our doctor here had this one almost untreatable skin condition that even if he agrees or not is one of those factors that subconsciously motivated him to choose the noblest profession of them all. To become a doctor. I, the guy who is writing this cheesy compliment, can honestly at least say one thing. And that is, our doctor here is that allegorical Pheonix that rose from the ashes and more, but he is weak AF on his 12 mana slaps :V.
@notacinephile-The Bamun and the Shakchunni - A Modern Re-telling
The name of our one of the most prominent citizen here suggests that he is not a cinephile.
-Not a cinephile
A person who is not fond of the cinema.
Even though he puts a satiric spin on how he is not a cinema enthusiast, his contents say otherwise. This guy lands among those few who can easily dissect a film to its core only because he can, so he does.
In this modern reiteration, he portrays how a socially awkward Short Man feels a sudden romantic affection for a Shak Chunni, a native Bengali exclusively female-type ghost that can be compared to the Girl from The Ring as an understandable reference, when in actuality, the story usually is on the reverse.
Splinterlands Tips Of The Week
Last week I showed you guys how to set up the best lineup for a 30 mana cap battle. Since then, of all the requests I received, the most notable one was, what other cards should we buy besides the untamed ones. So today I will suggest some most used cards which will win you most battles. I hope this will help the new users discover some cards.
Firstly, we will take a melee monster from each of the splinters. Because it is a bit difficult to find useful tanks from the untamed series.
Cerberus for Fire Splinter (Beta)
Because we are getting +1 speed from the pyre, we need powerful melee monster that can protect itself besides having a strong attack. Cerberus has 2 melee, 3 speed and 5 HP along with Heal ability.
Sea Monster for Water Splinter (Reward)
As we're playing with the water splinter, we need something that can eat up all the monsters in the sea. I'm talking about Sea Monster, It has a considerable build (8 HP) and a large mouth to eat even giant monsters (4 melee). It also has the Heal ability to protect itself.
Flesh/Stone Golem for Earth Splinter (Beta)
All the greens live in the green splinter! Although Flesh Golem at level 1 doesn't have anything special except its large body (9 health), Stone Golem has a hard stony body (Shield) and 2 Armor, which protects it from small monsters. So my suggestion is, if you're up against magic, go fro flesh golem. Otherwise, Stone Golem is better.
Silvershield Paladin for Life Splinter (Beta)
Even though we get +1 armour from the Beta summoner Tyrus Paladin, the untamed summoner Mother Khala gives +1 health. So we have 6 HP which allows it to fight longer along with its 1 Armor and 1 meele. We know this monster as the Security Guard of the Life Splinter!
Hunted Spirit for Death Splinter (Beta)
At lower levels, this is very effective in battles. The summoner Contessa L'ament reduces the opposition range by 1, the main attack comes from melee. So I like to use Haunted Spirit as a tank because of its 7 HP, 2 Meele and 2 Speed along with Heal ability.
Manticore for Dragon Splinter (Reward)
The dragons need no introduction because we all know how frightening Drogon, Rheagal and Viserion from Game of Thrones were! Manticore is one of them, with 6 HP, 3 Speed and 1 Meele. It has fly and Reach, which allows it to attack from the second position.
Other than these, every splinter has a few key cards. You can choose from the list below that will help you win your battles.
1/ Kobold Miner, Flame Monkey 2/ Sea Genie, Sabre Shark, Pirate Archer 3/ Screeching Vulture, javelin Thrower, Brownie, 4/ Feral Spirit, Peacebringer, Divine Healer 5/ Skeleton Assassin, Twisted Jester, 6/ Serpentine Mystic, Daria Dragonscale 7/ Furious Chicken, Elven Cutthroat, Centaur and Peaceful Giant.

Warrior Within
The revolution will not be televised
The revolution will be no re-run, brothers
The revolution will be live
- Gil Scott-Heron.
Our little tale starts with Jules Verne's From Earth To the Moon. As kids, staring at the Milkyway during the nights of new moons, what came first to our mind was "What is there?" in those voids of the vast multiverse? And then we'd seek answers from "Thakumar Jhuli". A classic bedtime book of fairy tales full of dreams and fantasies.
As we grew up, the questions changed from "what lives there" to "we wanna get there" to "how can we get there." We no longer sought answers from our favourite "Thakumar Jhuli." Fairytales no longer met our quests. We wandered off from where once, all the clues used to be. From where everything was possible.
But someday, when we are faced with adversities in life, when answers are nowhere to be found, when all the roads are seemingly blocked, maybe just a little bit of faith in fairy tales is what it takes to take the first step, to spark the revolutions within.
The journey may be a little rough, road filled with rocks, our futile attempts to summit on Kilimanjaro, but we made it this far. What will harm if faith is kept a little more on warriors who despite not knowing how to fight, shields those who are in need! In the end, we are that what we make of us. We are what we make of our heart and soul.
betal sotti, onnoyodev sotti, tarzan, captain spark..... sob sotti:)
Seek within for revolution and make do of what is unthinkable. For, after all, there are footprints on the moon.
Epilogue
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
