It’s been five years ever since Manchester United lifted any trophy. It’s a pity for a club like United, packed with titles and legacy. Their supporters are constantly demanding. United was fighting for a top-four finish as winning any title is mathematically unthinkable. Liverpool, City, and Chelsea clinched the top three spots. Only one vacancy remained for the ticket to UCL. Currently, Spurs occupy that position with 57 points on the table. Arsenal is not far behind as they have one game in hand, standing fifth on the table with 54 points. United was three points behind Arsenal. United’s goal of competing in the UCL was dimming. They only secured one win against Spurs in the past five matches; courtesy of Ronaldo’s master class scoring his first hattrick this year. Manchester United was eager for a win. Only a win would do for them since the way ahead isn’t pleasant at all then. After the encounter against Norwich, they had to face one of the championship contenders of this season, who also can be referred to as United’s arch-rival. In the previous five matches, United only managed to win once. As they battle in Anfield, Liverpool supporters will give them the taste of eternal damnation. Nevertheless, there was hope as Spurs and Arsenal will directly confront one other on the 13th of May. It will be a win-win for United, no matter the outcome in that match. United will also have the opportunity to pull out their adversary Arsenal from the race to UCL on the 23rd of this month. In football, anything can happen. But United needed to approach mathematically, and the first and most essential solution to that was in beating Norwich. Things couldn’t get sweeter as Spurs dropped all three points against Brighton. It heavily impacted their chances for UCL qualification since Spurs still have to encounter Leicester, Liverpool, and Arsenal.
We all know just how demanding United supporters can be. They didn’t even think twice before whistling the greatest Player ever who holds almost every extensive record recognized by FIFA. Ronaldo clearly understands how and where to hush his doubters. That’s what he has been doing in his entire professional career. He knew what his fans wanted. As we all know, Ronaldo is a true winner. He didn’t disappoint us this time here as well. United only took seven minutes to build the advantage. Scorer? Who else! CR7, the undisputed living legend, the G.O.A.T. The rising youngster Antony Elanga set up Ronaldo one-on-one with the opponent goalie after retrieving the ball in Norwich’s d-box.
In the 32nd minute of the game, Ronaldo scored again to double the lead from a corner taken by Alex Telles. United was marching towards all three points.
Arsenal went on trailing at halftime against Southampton thanks to Bednarek for completing the icing on top favoring United.
Once again misery was a great follower of United. It constantly finds ways to uncover Manchester United. In the extra time of the first half, United conceded a goal. This time it was Kieran Dowell in the disguise of misery.
Still, there remained a sense of optimism until United surrendered their two goals advantage. It was Kieran Dowell again but as the assist source of Teemu Pukki. That goal made him the first Norwich player to score 10+ goals in successive Premier League seasons!
As Arsenal was still trailing, there was still some hope at least, but a goal was a must for that. United players were desperate to grab that. But nothing was functioning. United boss made three changes, but the conclusion wasn’t pleasing. Only 15 minutes left to play. Arsenal was still struggling. But that wasn’t sufficient. A victory was the only perfect solution. Who else? It was him again! The G.O.A.T. A stunning free-kick from Ronaldo won by his first assist provider Elanga allowed United to establish their advantage once again.
In the end, Ronaldo’s hat-trick enabled United to bag all three points whilst Arsenal managed to secure none. This cleared the gap between them, which put Manchester United in the top five since they had a better goal differential than the Gunners.
It’s Ronaldo once again strengthening his side. He netted his 50th club career hat-trick.
A total of sixty career hat-tricks including ten in international football. Only Pele has managed more than him. What’s more peculiar is that of the sixty hat tricks, 30 hat tricks were scored before turning 30, and the other 30 were really after 30. It’s time to distort the scale!
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a total of 810 career goals:
My adjectives would never be adequate enough to describe the likes of Ronaldo. He is timeless. The self-belief and hunger to succeed he possesses probably make him the absolute finest. He is the supreme leader of United with no armbands. On and off the field he consistently endeavors to encourage his mates. Again, it was Ronaldo who kept the Glimpses of Hopes burning for the red devils and their supporters.
