You can strike in different ways. You can use your fingers to strike. So should you do finger strike in a fight?
When you do finger strike, you are not hitting anywhere. Your primary target is to hit specific vulnerable points of the body. You can hit the attacker's eye. If you do that with opening and pointing two fingers, there is a high chance you will get hurt.
If you strike the attacker and end up breaking your fingers, no one wants that. Even if you want to do palm strike to the face with open fingers, you might hit the eyes.
Use reasonable force when you fight for self defense. You do not want to make some serious damage like attacking the eyes. You want to make the damage that is needed to defend yourself. You still have to deal with issues after the fight. So, you have to consider a lot of things in a fight for self defense.
You can use your fingers to grab and apply pressure or move the attackers. You can grab and pull your opponent and make you lose his balance.
If you get hurts on your fingers, you cannot grab and fight. It is better to avoid doing finger strikes. Instead, you can do palm strike, punch, grab your opponent, pull, or push him away.
In case you watch something fancy in movies, that's good for movies but not in dealing with a real-life situation. If you see you are in danger and you are being attacked, you will only use those moves that are highly effective to defend yourself. You do not want to do something fancy to show off.
