As he sat across from her, taking in the disbelief of those sad blue eyes, the stubble movements of shaky lips as if words were reluctant to vocalize the terror, he thought, it's so easy to catch people off guard with indifference. So easy to let the silence take over the fear, the loss, but mostly the trust that once ran free in her vain.
In the end, all she could master up to say was why?
Why he did what he did, what was the reason behind or what pushed him to the path that could only be defined as evil. But he couldn’t give her the answer, couldn’t explain the needs, nor was there any justification for his action. So he simply shrugged and looked away, in the hope that she would find the truth in his silence.
