Well, do not take the title literally! It simply implies it is not your duty nor responsibility to judge people.
We are all guilty of it.
Every time you see someone on the street, or in your office, or even live with a friend, you are judging them. Judging their appearance, their mannerisms, and probably most importantly - whether they're cool enough to associate with.
Internet is the most common place where people are judging others in spite of having any clue about them whatsoever. It is so common that words have even been invented to describe this phenomenon.
Enter - "Slut-shaming", "Fat shaming", and the latest in the long list, "Shaming".
Ever since the Internet became a thing, people started 'shaming' one another on social media sites for ridiculous reasons. The most common of these include:
ā Wearing revealing clothes/smoking/drinking alcohol/ having tattoos / general stupidity etc. etc. etc.
The worst part? People take it seriously and screenshot their judgments on social media. And then share with everyone they know! We all need to stop being judgmental towards each other as you never know what kind of life someone had.
It's a human quality to have prejudices about people before we've even had a proper conversation with them. It's just how we are as humans. We judge people before we get to know them for who they really are. But think about this: would you want to be judged based on first impressions? I'm guessing no! You'd hate it if somebody thought you were an absolute dickhead because they looked at you the wrong way and assumed.
It is an irony when you start a debate with someone and they start judging you. They start making assumptions about your intelligence and your background. They judge you by the way you speak or act, by what you wear, and how much money you have.
In today's society, people are judged by many factors. But one particular factor that does not define a person is their financial status. No matter how rich someone is they can be ignorant towards others, no matter how poor someone's family is. Just because somebody is poor doesn't mean he/she is bad inside, just because someone is rich doesn't mean he/she isn't evil inside as well!
People make decisions based on opinions and not facts. This may lead to mistakes in the judgment of others, leading to some premeditated misrepresentation. I don't know how people can believe in FIRST IMPRESSIONS. Is impression a wise thing to believe in? I think not. Why does a person need to be judged when they haven't done anything wrong? We are all human beings who make mistakes and let me tell you something, we all have some bad qualities about ourselves! That doesn't mean good qualities don't exist for us either!
The first impression is totally unfair because it's not based on the person's personality, but mainly on what that person wears or how he/she looks like. So people should stop judging others, just because someone has a different skin color or if one dresses differently doesn't mean he or she is not as important as you are.
To conclude, DONT JUDGE PEOPLE, AT ALL! As simple as that, you are not a judge!
