Last year at this time, I wrote a travel review for '22. As expected, 2023 was a quieter year in that regard so in this case I'll look forward to what might be coming upโฆ
At present I'm in my home town in Devon, England and have been enjoying the festivities before making my next move.
First up, it'll be Gran Canaria! Las Palmas is a great place for digital nomads and I'll be heading there in a week or so. It's undecided as to length of time etc but I've never been to that particular island so well worth a visit.
Whilst I'm in the vicinity, a trip to Tenerife may well be in order too as I have spent time there in the past and would be good to catch up with some people there and get in amongst some classic haunts.
My sister's birthday is in May and she's arranging a trip to Norway so I hope to get involved in that. Never been and it's sure to be a great and unique experience so I really want to make it if I can.
I was due to go to Bansko Nomad Fest last year in June/July but couldn't make it for one reason and another. So depending on a few factors (not least a recent trip to Norway!), I'm itching to go. It's one of those things that have been on the horizon these past few years and I'm keen to get involved, and maybe explore some of the rest of Bulgaria in the process.
Then later in the year (September?) we'll have to see about dear ol' HiveFest. No idea where that will be yet and indeed if it's happening at all. It should be, so I guess it depends on location and logistics. I've been fortunate to attend a couple, and missed a few (including Mexico last year) and I will redress that balance if I can. Europe would suit me better but if somewhere else, I'll see what I can do.
And finally, some sort of skiing trip. That may well be later in the year if I can fit it in, perhaps December and take in a Christmas market whilst I'm at it.
That's a general idea which is subject to all manner of changes of course. Those are the things I'd like to fit in, and I also want to have a more regular base too โ whether that be Spain, England or other.
It will be good to look back at the end of the year to see what I've done and how it's gone, so I'll do some sort of review then and reference this post.
I'll keep my blog updated as I go through the year, and I also have a physical travel journal that my sister gave me for my birthday which I'll fill out and will be a nice keepsake. That way I'll be all over the blockchain and have a physical record too!
What about you? Any cool travel plans for the coming year?
