Hello again, friends of Feel Good! In this new edition of Phone Photography #71, I had the opportunity to travel to eastern Caracas to buy household goods. We already live in what would be the western part of the city, if we're talking about greater Caracas, so traveling to eastern Caracas, the Chacao municipality, is an important journey where the streets, buildings, and squares are distinct, with a markedly different identity than those of the western and historic center of the city.
After shopping, we took a walk from the east of Caracas to the west, and I had the opportunity to capture Altamira Plaza in Chacao on my cell phone's camera. This is an iconic spot in the municipality. Its large obelisk rises from the center of the plaza and offers a beautiful view with Ávila Hill behind it. We continued our journey west, mainly toward the historic center of Caracas, where the National Pantheon is located, which houses the remains of the generals who participated in our country's independence. But the most interesting sight was the image of that enormous steel rose located right next to the Pantheon, known as the Red Rose of Paita.

The Red Rose of Paita is a monument created in 2012 and is a sculpture that pays homage to Manuela Sáenz, Simón Bolívar's companion, the Liberator of our country, whose remains rest in the National Pantheon. The way this sculpture is placed, simply contemplative, makes it impossible to go unnoticed. For me, it was the first time I encountered it, as I have a view of the National Pantheon straight ahead from my house, so I'd never been able to see this monument. So, as I drove by, I took advantage of a pause in traffic to quickly take a photo of the sculpture with my phone against the white background of the monument to our liberators. For a first-timer, it turned out pretty well.
Well, friends, this was my experience of the week, which I decided to capture on my cell phone. Recently, I've had relatives visit me who want to learn more about Caracas, so I'll take the opportunity to share more about my entropic city with you. See you in a future post. Best regards.

Hola de nuevo amigos de Feel Good! En esta nueva edición de Phone Photography #71 tuve la oportunidad de viajar al este de Caracas para comprar enceres para la casa, vivimos ya en lo que sería el oeste de la Ciudad si hablamos de la gran Caracas, por lo que viajar al este de Caracas: municipio Chacao es un viaje importante donde las calles, los edificios y las plazas son diferentes, tienen una identidad marcadamente diferente a la del oeste y casco histórico de la ciudad.
Alli después de realizar las compras hicimos un paseo desde el este de Caracas hasta el Oeste y tuve la oportunidad de registrar en la cámara de mi celular la Plaza Altamira en Chacao que es un lugar icónico del municipio, su gran obelisco se levanta desde el centro de la plaza y genera una hermosa vista cuando tiene el cerro Ávila a sus espaldas. Continuamos nuestro viaje hacia el oeste principalmente hacia el casco histórico de Caracas donde se encuentra el Panteón Nacional donde se encuentran los restos de los generales que participaron en la independencia de nuestro país. Pero lo más interesante fue la imagen de esa enorme rosa de acero que se encuentra justo al lado del Panteón y se le conoce como la Rosa Roja de Paita.

La Rosa Roja de Paita es un monumento creado en el 2012 y es una escultura que hace homenaje a Manuela Sáenz quien fuera la compañera de Simón Bolívar Libertador de nuestro país y cuyos restos descansan en el Panteón Nacional. La manera en la que esta puesta esta escultura, sola contemplativa hace que no pase inadvertida. Para mi fue la primera vez que me la encontré pues desde mi casa tengo la vista del Panteón Nacional de frente así que nunca pude ver este monumento. Entonces mientras pasaba con el carro aproveche una pausa producto del tráfico para fotografiar rápidamente con el móvil la escultura con el fondo blanco del monumento a nuestros libertadores, para ser una foto de primer intento quedo bastante bien.
Bien amigos esta fue mi experiencia de la semana que decidí capturar desde mi móvil, recientemente me han visitado familiares que quieren conocer más de Caracas así que aprovecharé para compartirles a ustedes también más de mi ciudad entrópica. Nos vemos en un próximo post. Saludos.
