Good morning Worldbuilders,
I am thrilled to share with you my first post introducing my new (old) world. I was already working on that world more than 2 years ago, but never managed to "release" it. This should change today by publishing a first introduction to the world. Afterwards there is no going back, right?
So let's go 💪
The city of Whiteleaf
Whiteleaf lies at the center of a vast forest of white trees that stretch to the horizon. The town is surrounded by these unique trees, which emit a mysterious and shimmering dust. 483 years ago, a great fire raged and destroyed almost the entire known world. Whiteleaf is the only town to have survived this devastating fire unscathed. Since then, all the trees have been white and the origin of the fine dust they emit remains a mystery. The town is built of light-colored stone and wood harvested from the white trees. The buildings are often adorned with elaborate carvings and decorations depicting the fate and history of the town. In the center of the town stands a large monument commemorating the Great Fire. It depicts a flame rising from the ashes, symbolizing the resurgence of Whiteleaf and the courage of its people. Whiteleaf is a melting pot of survivors from different peoples and cultures who found refuge in the town after the fire. The population consists of around 10,000 people, including craftsmen, traders, scholars and adventurers.
The white trees in the world of Whiteleaf are the most striking feature. They are tall, elegant and shine in a pure white. The fine dust they secrete covers the city and shimmers in the sunlight. There are many theories about the properties of this dust, but so far no one has been able to unravel its secrets.
I hope you like that brief introduction. It turned out how I was imaginating it and I am really happy that I shared it. I think each post is going to complete my world brick by brick, character by character and idea by idea.
Thanks for the support. I am happy right now 🙏
