I have gotten some feedback that reminders are pretty useful when it comes to the regular events held in WOO. So here I am again with a quick reminder for any upcoming events.
This is a reminder to all my readers (and WOO fans) that there is still NO event planned this weekend BUT here's a quick titbit about RNG that happened in the WOO Discord which had @bookerman commenting as well. 😜
There’s no official WOO event this weekend, but the Discord chat still had a bit of life in it — especially when a familiar name popped in for a quick reply. It started with NordSteorra dropping a line of frustration: 48 reward packs opened and still no gold belt. 😭
That’s the kind of heartbreak every WOO player knows all too well. We’ve all had those stretches where pack after pack just feels cursed.
Ray5fan chimed in to share that they didn’t see their first gold belt until they’d opened well into the 100s of packs, and Nord replied saying they were now in the same boat. Then, out of nowhere, Bookerman popped in quick and casual, like a GM stepping into the locker room. He dropped a one-liner: “Reward pack gold belts are much harder than alpha pack gold belts.”
No drama, no sugar coating. Just a straightforward reminder that reward pack odds really aren’t in your favour. And of course, right on cue, FroZsT had to flex a little: “I got 2 gold belts in my first 3 packs.” Classic.
I couldn’t help but think back to an old chart I once saw in the Discord where someone (most likely Bookerman or a member of the WOO development team) had actually posted the drop rate stats for all the cards, including gold belts. If I can dig it up again (and find the time), I might eventually write something about it. Would be interesting to compare pack types, see how reward and alpha packs really stack up when it comes to the high value pulls.
Anyway, even if the gold belt drought continues, moments like this in the chat (players venting, flexing, and getting a surprise appearance from Bookerman) are what keep WOO feeling alive. No event? No problem. The grind, the luck (or lack of it), and the occasional staff drop-in are enough to keep things rolling.
