WOO! What’s good gamers/wrasslin’ fans!?
So it’s been a while since I posted on PEAKD or even made content for that matter, but the next few days promise to be awesome! First my birthday on the 12th and then the 14th is here! No not “Greg” Valentines Day, it’s WOO LAND DAY! The first territory sale is upon us and it’s probably the most excited I’ve been in Web3 gaming.
The devs of @wrestorgonline have gone into great detail for us in this post - @wrestorgonline/woo-land-complete-utility-guide and honestly, that’s a rarity in web3 gaming as we all know. So often, sales go on and for Land in particular, we never have any info, sometimes even for years… Yet WOO has laid it all out pre-sale. Land rarely has an organic reason to exist beyond fund raising, yet in WOO it’s integrated perfectly. This is hands down the best implementation of the Land function that I’ve come across so far and it’s central to the game itself.
Back in the pre-WWF days, wrestling operated on a model of territories. Each territory had a major and many minor promotions. They all talent shared the bulk of their roster, less a handful of homegrown top guys like Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler in Memphis or the Von Erichs in Texas, to keep shows fresh. WOO’s game is built in this way too with players holding shows in their Land plots (Cities) in a Territory area. Each having it’s own unique variables that affect your shows and revenue. It’s not only you that can book in your City either, but other players can book there too and you get a cut of the revenue!
Another big “RKO outta nowhere” for me is the fact we can upgrade our Cities, boosting population and that other #HIVE partners and dApps can and may be integrated to use their tokens to upgrade. This is such a cool feature and a big part of why I also love Hive. Games and developers all work together here and it’s honestly refreshing to see.
Land just has so much too it in WOO. So many upgrades, tweaks, modifications and ways it can be used. It’s central to the gaming experience and feels like such a cool thing to be an owner of.
9000 are up for sale with the whitelist – top asset holders - being first up, the general sale will follow with whatever remains. A lot of pools have opened up to help those of us who don’t have the bags to hold enough to qualify ourselves, so get in one if you haven’t already. At $20 a City or $15 +500 WOO (an excellent discount), it’s a very affordable asset as far as Land goes in web3. I’m personally in a small pool with a friend I’ve made through my HIVE related content, as my own 47 Alpha, 50 Saturn, 10 Raven packs, open NFT’s and 85k WOO wasn’t enough to qualify me. I’m not a whale, I’m an average gamer, a single dad to one and a lifelong wrestling fan.
