You know, I have to hand it to Limited Run Games. They're re-releasing games for old consoles, and I LOVE IT! When I heard they were re-releasing Star Wars: Rebel Assault on the Sega CD, I had to pick one up. I placed that order months ago, and largely forgot about it until yesterday. Guess what showed up on my doorstep?
No, seriously, I love the look of this game. They even put it in the tall boxes that the old Sega CD games came in!
Of course they put the foam block in there! It wouldn't be a retro design if they hadn't...
That new disc look, though... It's so purty...
I love that they say "your Retro Console" instead of Sega CD. We all know they'd pay out the nose in licensing fees to Sega if they did. It's just funny as hell, you know?
Gah! the shitty black and white game artwork is back! GAAAAH!!! I kid, I kid. It's cool that they recreated everything about this game.
I don't have a SegaCD, but I do have Kega Fusion! One of these days, after I get the house situation squared away, I'm gonna have to stream this for you guys. To be honest, I'm kinda surprised that LRG went for this game instead of something like one of the Working Designs games. There are titles on the SegaCD that are probably higher demand than Rebel Assault. I would have preferred Rebel Assault 2, I thought that was the better game, but I'm still excited to take this one out for a spin.
