For a while now I have been trying to figure out what to do with myself and a few of my friends who are in the tech field advised me to join them; some even went as far as offering me free lessons but, the fear of a new career was scary and the idea of learning something that I had no prior knowledge about pushed me away.
My goal after rejecting the offers from my friends was to focus on hive, maybe get a job and move to a different state but, life can be funny, and even when I got a job to leave my state, I had to reject it due to a few reasons.
I also realized during this period that even though I loved being on hive, the financial part wasn't enough anymore, especially with the inflation in my country so, I had to find another means of earning and it boiled back to “tech”.
I decided that I was smart enough to pick it up and focus on it, but after starting classes on uiux design, I couldn't keep up, I didn't understand a single thing so, I stopped attending classes.
After a few weeks of wasting away, I decided to start again but, this time, I added something to the learning and that was “music”.
I had read a few years back about how music produces various beneficial effects on a human brain and how it triggers both sides of the brain which can maximize and improve learning, so I knew that trying it would at least have an effect on my learning.
I decided then to search for music that could help the brain so I could add it to a folder, and I saw that classical music and gospel music enhanced brain activity, so I created a folder with some Mozart and Travis Greene amongst others.
After doing that, I went back to class feeling pretty confident with my airpod in, and when I tell you that even though I went for a harder field this time which was web development, things felt easier than the first time, and in a week, I could create a design.
This whole experience is crazy because I bet that if I had this knowledge in school, I would have learned faster and been better.
Anyways, now I know better, and I hope to continue learning through the use of music and I also will surely teach other people around me how powerful a tool music can be for learning.
