There was a time, quite a long time ago, when probably many of you weren't even born yet, when I used to create and produce a lot of electronic music. That happened in the early 90s at the height of the big rave festivals and underground parties that used to happen in my country as well as around the world.
Those were times a bit simpler than now in terms of choosing go outside in the wild and how to find multiple cheerful ways to socialize and enjoy yourself big time lost among large crowds of people and urban tribes of all kinds the entire weekend in the open air jumping, dancing, sharing unique experiences and having a good time in the good company of other radical free souls.
Part of that story I have already told before through some old posts that I have written on the blockchain. One of which you can read and enjoy just by clicking here. Yeah, you know. As to not make this post today too long, repeating the same thing again and just focus today on what is truly relevant.
Below you will find a trio of my old danceable musical pieces that we could classify within the genre Trance and Minimal Techno. I understand that for today's standards and tastes in electronic dance music, these pieces of mine may sound somewhat minimalist, old-fashioned and even insipid nowadays. But you must take into account that these were created more than 30 years ago in what could be called the old school of techno and danceable electronic music.
And believe me when I tell you that with these three, which were part of my usual DJ set, I was able to keep a huge whole crowd of people happily jumping and dancing non-stop on the dance floor for hours at a time.
These three tracks are part of what I called my Hypnotrance Minimal Techno Dj set. DJ sets that were only made up of original pieces created by me. Since I did not use to play or mix the music of other musical creators or authors in my live performances at festivals and raves. I was just mixing my own original music.
There was a time when I went up, uploaded and kept a large part of my danceable musical repertoire online on a website called Grooveshark. But all that work was gone once Grooveshark was acquired by another bigger company and all the accounts of the former users disappeared along with their content despite all the work done by us for so long. Years of work that vanished in an instant.
Many years later. Nevertheless. I was encouraged to upload a couple dozen of my best tracks to Dsound. But at that time and due to some technical problems with the configuration and stability of the IPFS services on which they depended to store our content uploaded to their platform. I eventually also ended up losing all the material that I had uploaded to their promising decentralized platform on the blockchain. And well, today you know what happened to the project @dsound.
So, after much thought and having practically decided not to do it again. Suddenly I was encouraged one more time and decided to give to this stuff one last chance. But only... because today I'm in a musical mood. };)
Basically I have done this post because I had promised it to my good friend @edje for a long time. And who knows. Maybe depending on your response, receptivity and feedback, I may feel encouraged to upload a few more of these old tracks for your delightful curiosity and let you go back to the OldSchool days of danceable electronic music in wide open spaces in the wild.
For the moment and to finish this post here. Just tell you that I would like you to let me know what you think of these old tracks. Did you like them? Do you still find them danceable, enjoyable? Did these made you stomp/tap your feet and move your head at least a little? Yeah, let me know. It will be highly appreciated. :)
