Hello friends,
In today's article, i will be discussing about Increte Pavement with the pictures below.
What is Increte?
To understand what increte mean, have you ever come across a pavement with decorative concrete work?
Increte is a system of imprinting patterns or textures onto a freshly poured concrete, this makes the concrete to take the shape of the increte.
From the above pictures, you can see some imprinted textures on the concrete surface which took the shape of stones and some others
Increte concrete pavements are commonly used in residential pavement such as patios, walkways or driveways (not for heavy vehicles).
In picture 2 & 3
We can see the concrete in its plastic state, being transported in a wheelbarrow and a mason dressing the concrete with a wood and level it. It is important that the pavement align with the already existing pavement to attain a smooth surface.
You can see from the picture, its clearly written concrete colors
This is a colour hardner that enhance the aesthetic appeal stamped concrete surface.
This material is available in several colors such as slate gray, ash white, terra cotta and beige.
There are 2 methods of applying this colour
- This colour can be mixed into the concrete before pouring to provide uniform colour throughout, this method is called Integral Color. However this method will consume much colour depending on the volume of the concrete.
- To reduce the consumption of color, it is best to apply as a powder on freshly placed concrete and spread across the surface of the concrete. This is known as Dry Shake Pigment
Looking at the picture, you can easily figure out what this mat is used for.
For clarity, this is the tool used for imprinting patterns on concrete and it's known as Stamp Mat. It is a flexible polyurethane with textured designs (as seen in the photo) that mimic stone, tile, brick, etc.
In this last image, we can see how the textures on the pavement were imprinted on the concrete using the stamp mat. The mat is placed carefully on the freshly poured concrete and a force is applied on the mat making the mat to leave a print on the pavement.
Thank you for your time. I hope you found this article informative.
