In the shade of the arch - watercolors on paper

Hello everyone, dear Hivers friends, and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing my latest watercolor painting, which depicts part of an ancient historic center with the inevitable cats that frequent it in search of mice. In my subject, the cats do not seem very active; they are resting in the shade, waiting for something to catch their attention. I have depicted a large arch with medieval-style hanging arches at the top and the classic weeds typical of ancient monuments and neglect. I have painted a large shadow that allows the sunlight to stand out and illuminate the soft colors of the buildings.

All'ombra dell'arco - acquarelli su carta

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido il mio ultimo dipinto ad acquarello che raffigura una parte di un antico centro storico con gli immancabili gatti che lo frequentano in cerca di topi. Nel mio soggetto i gatti non sembrano molto attivi, si riposano all'ombra in attesa di qualcosa che attiri la loro attenzione. Ho raffigurato un grande arco con archetti pensili di tipo medievale sulla sommità, e le classiche piante infestanti tipiche dei monumenti antichi e dell'incuria. Ho dipinto un grande taglio di ombra che permette di mettere la luce del sole in evidenza e illuminare i colori tenui degli edifici.
