Among what I call "my super powers" one of the most fantastic is being "obsessive-compulsive", so when I get into the habit of doing something it's possible that I behave like some kind of a freak with repetitive manias. That's why I'm taking advantage of any free time I have to take my old laptop and dedicate myself to building digital LEGO models...
Entre los que yo llamo "mis súper poderes" uno de los más fantásticos es el de ser "obsesivo compulsivo", así que cuando me aficiono a hacer algo es posible que me comporte como una especie de orate con manías repetitivas. Es por eso que estoy aprovechando cualquier intervalo de tiempo libre para tomar mi vieja laptop y dedicarme a construir modelos digitales de LEGO...
Besides, I live in a country where is very common a "5 or 6 hours electrical blackout" due to the lousy infrastructure and the great capacity of our rulers to "make the budget for the improvement of public services disappear", including electricity. So having a laptop with Lego Digital Designer (LDD) is also a very useful tool in these cases (and it keeps my mental health safe)...
Además, vivo en un país en donde es algo bastante "el que estemos durante 5 o 6 horas sin electricidad" debido a la pésima infraestructura y a la gran capacidad que tienen nuestros gobernantes para "hacer desaparecer el presupuesto" destinado a la mejora de los servicios públicos, entre ellos la electricidad. Así que contar con una laptop con Lego Digital Designer (LDD) es también una herramienta bastante útil en estos casos (y mantiene a salvo mi salud mental)...
So it was that for today's "blackout" I decided to sit down at my laptop and try to build a LEGO model of my own inspiration. I must confess that at first I wanted to assemble a small car, then I gave up on this and started building a small biplane (that was the original idea).... In doing this I came across a lot of lovely parts for assembling planes in the LDD catalogue.
Así fue como para el "apagón de hoy" decidí sentarme en mi laptop y tratar de construir un modelo LEGO de inspiración propia. Debo de confesar que al principio quise ensamblar un pequeño auto, luego desistí de esto y comencé a construir un pequeño biplano (esa era la idea original)... Haciendo esto me topé con un montón de piezas encantadoras para ensamblar aviones en el catalogo de LDD.
I enjoyed looking at all those parts such as propellers, engines, wings with dihedral, small exhausts and even a drift for the tail, so much that I ended up building a much more complex model than I had in mind.
Me gustó tanto observar todas esas piezas como hélices, motores, alas con diedro, pequeños escapes e incluso una deriva para la cola, que terminé construyendo un modelo mucho más complejo de lo que tenía en mente.
As it usually happens when we like something and it awakens our "creative muse", the whole creative process flowed naturally and I ended up assembling this nice "racing plane" (at least I think that's what it is) and as an additional detail I have placed pieces simulating a couple of Venezuelan flags on its wings, this to "pay tribute" a little to this country which is having such a hard time taking off lately...
Como suele pasar cuando algo nos gusta y despierta nuestra "musa creativa", todo el proceso creativo fluyó de manera natural y terminé ensamblado este simpático "avión de carreras" (cuando menos yo creo que es eso) y como detalle adicional he colocado piezas simulando un par de banderas de Venezuela en sus alas, esto para "homenajear" un poco a este país al cual tanto le está costando alzar el vuelo últimamente...
The little more than three hours spent building this model were not enough for the blackout to end and for us to have electricity again. But, as always with LEGO, the time flew by in a delightful and fun way. So I still had a little extra battery left over to create this post and share it with you, so I hope you like this new acing aircraft model.
Las poco más de tres horas invertidas en la construcción de este modelo no fueron suficientes para que el apagón terminase y tuviésemos de nuevo electricidad. Pero, como siempre sucede con LEGO, el tiempo ha volado de una manera encantadora y divertida. Así que aún me ha sobrado un poco de batería adicional para crear esta publicación y compartirla con ustedes, espero entonces que les guste este nuevo modelo de aeroplano de carreras.
