One of the parks connected to our riverbank path system here in Eugene, Oregon is the Owen Rose Garden. It has been closed for most of May while they have been replacing some of the gravel paths with concrete paved paths. I knew that it was scheduled to reopen today, but since I take my walks along the riverbank path early in the morning I had prepared myself to find that it would still be physically blocked off until the normal workday started. But when I got there around six today I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was open. I strolled around the new path and enjoyed the roses before walking back home along the path.
