On our last day in Ireland we walked around a wildlife centre called FOTA wildlife park near Cork. Quite a large park with a wide range of animals.
One of the highlights was the giraffe enclosure, including some magnificent animals.
We were lucky enough to see a peacock displaying while we were there, but the female did not look very interested!
There were many small island enclosures with various monkeys, some of which were very noisy but they were too far away and difficult to get a photo of which is a shame.
There were many kinds of birds there too, some of them I think were wild birds which come in to enjoy the hospitality of the park!
I spotted at least two herons which were obviously capable of flying in and out of the park at will. The lakes were full of fish so it must be paradise to them.
I could not include all the animals as there are far too many to include here but it was a very enjoyable visit to a well kept animal sanctuary.
