This impressive tree can be found in Tilgate Park here in Crawley. A giant Sequoia AKA wellingtonia. I dont know the height of it, but it is by far the tallest thing anywhere in the park!
As it was a nice sunny day, I took a ride to Tilgate Park on my mountain bike. The temperature was not very good at about 5°C but it felt ok in the sunshine.
After the heavy rain lately, I kept to hard tracks today for the most part, although i couldn't resist a little venture onto some softer tracks close to the lake. It was very wet, so negotiating tree roots was very tricky.
The main lake looked stunning.
A pair of swans were quietly grazing the lake shallows. I took some photos of them, both at normal magnification and Zoom, using my mobile phone. Quite good results.
The park looked marvellous in the bright sunshine, and there were many examples of spring flowers. The crocuses are amazing this year, with vast patches of them. They seem to be spreading so fast, but I suspect that humans may have a play in this! 🤣
