A mighty African anticyclone dominates the blue sky of Naples bringing a strong night temperature range and dropping temperatures around zero degrees.
Southern Italy is affected by currents of northern winds coming from the northeast that clean the Sky from pollution and smog and in this immense colorful void that the moon splashes happy showing off early in the morning.
While writing I found myself in the city of Giugliano because this morning I plan to take a trip to the park with my son Gaetano.
Before going to the park, since it was very early and so it was not yet the time when there were people in the municipal villa, I took Gaetano to take a cultural sightseeing tour of the city by visiting the church of Santa Sofia.
The church is being renovated and most of it is not open to the public and is covered with canvas and a scaffold where the altar is drawn above, however, we managed to take some beautiful photos of the interior.
This wonderful ecclesiastical building owes its magnificent beauty and its interesting architecture to two great artists of the Italian Renaissance such as Domenico Fontan, the architect, and his restorer Antonio Vaccaro whose imprint can be seen in the beautiful stuccoes that fresco the church inside.
The bell tower is beautifully made and has been moved from its original location following renovations that have also allowed to expand and improve the architecture of the square where the church is located.
After this short sightseeing of the city we walked to the park where we spent a magnificent day in the green and breathing clean and fresh air.
The park was very crowded also because it’s been almost a month that no one came because of the bad weather and the flu epidemic that has run far and wide in the province of Naples has not come down much from home.
I was hit twice one is a little before the Befana and another time last week and also Gaetano had a couple of relapses and now the worst is over and we can finally devote ourselves again to our passions.
