Today was not particularly productive, but it was a good day. Fridays are usually not very busy. I made plans for Monday, took care of a little paperwork, and then got ready for tomorrow. I dropped off some stuff I'll need. Took my son with me, we helped the owner of the store move some stuff to the back. My son said "I am a good helper," and the store owner said, "you are the best helper I've had all day!"
I think he liked that.
After that, we went to Dave & Buster's for dinner and then half priced games. We played some Mario Kart, Skee-Ball, some coin pusher games, and I found out my son is pretty damn good at the Angry Birds arcade game. I also got a round of Pump in while I was there!
There was this group of adults that were playing when we walked up. I waited my turn, told my son to wait with me. He did, and he did a good job staying near the Pump cab while I played my set. The people that were playing before me were pretty nice. When I took my turn, I asked if they had ever seen anyone play doubles before. They said they hadn't. I knew EXACTLY what song to play first!
You Got Me Crazy is a fun 5 that isn't too difficult. It makes you move back and forth, and ends in a split to hit both center pads. Good for spring off and warming up. They walked away after that, so I went back to my normal mainstays.
Toccata is just a fun 7 in general. It's a steady stream of notes, well charted, and oh look, I still hold the machine record! This is a fun one to lower to 1X just to mess with people walking by.
I found this in the new tunes section. It's one that I hadn't tried, so I figured I would sight read it. It's a fun chart, and I will probably add this to my rotation of songs I play.
I took my son home after this, put him to bed, and hung out with the wife before downing some Benadryl and going to bed. I've got a long day ahead of me tomorrow, make sure you're following me to get updates when I make another post tomorrow!
