Hello to you, @Actifit team.
This isn't meant to be a rant, but a wake-up call.
I'm sitting in front of my Actifit.io profile on the web and I can't see what I did today, yesterday, last week, or 5 years ago, and how much.
Not even the rudimentary information I see on Google Fit.
No statistics whatsoever.
I can't post.
I can't see other athletes.
I can't connect, ping them, or message them.
I can't arrange to meet up with others to exercise.
I can't participate in any challenges.
I can't organize any challenges.
I can't see any rankings, and I can't compare myself.
If I go to the mobile app, it's the same drama.
I can write, add pictures and videos, but nothing else. There are no opportunities to interact with other users, no challenges, no statistics, no calendars, or anything similar for past or future activities.
Even worse:
I can't record specific activities.
I can't record running in the morning, cycling at lunch, gym in the afternoon, and swimming in the evening, and all this in a fitness app!
I can't pause an activity.
I can't enter calories burned instead of steps.
I can't enter workout duration instead of steps.
And counting steps for push-ups, stretching, sailing, or calisthenics doesn't make much sense. But that's all your selection of sports offers.
If I go to your @Actifit community,
I can write a post and vote others.
But I can't add the main points of my post; I can't add my step count from the mobile app. What added value does this community have for me then? To find other posts, just use the hashtag #actifit.
I don't care why it's (still) this way.
What I really don't understand is why it has to stay this way?
Rebuild the app, get help.
You have everything you need. You are a developer, you know Actifit, write a new white paper, present it to the users, the other developers and marketing people, get celebrated for it in Bali, but do it:
-You know how to connect Actifit with Android and Apple sensors.
-Add social features like Fitbit or Garmin.
The microbloggers from #snaps, #threadsapp, #waves, and #moments probably know how.
-Incorporate maps like Fitbit, Garmin, and Relive.
Ask the people from #worldmapping, maybe they know how.
-Add a food database to the app:
The food communities would certainly be happy, too.
-Open the app to non-Hive account holders.
The people from #ecency and #3Speak know how.
-Synchronize the webpage and the app.
Do marketing if it works.
You have 7,000 active ambassadors; use them! Reward their engagement on other social media.
You yourself write in your 2021 white paper that it's a billion-dollar market.
So why are you satisfied with 7,000 active users and don't want millions of active users?
Even Fitbit, the platform where not much is happening, has 30 million active users.
Do you need money for that?
If there isn't enough, issue a limited participation token, something like a stock token.
And I want some of these stock tokens because I believe in them.
Actifit could be Hive's biggest pillar if you do it right.
You have all the requirements and all the tools for it.
@pjansen, I ask you to forward this post to anyone who could help. Of course, only if you think it makes sense. Thank you.
Thanks for reading.
If you think this is useful for a better Actifit and a growing Hive, please share it with anyone who could help.
