At long last, blue skies and big step counts at Elements Music & Arts Festival! Nearly hit the 33K mark, considering I put in work from midnight to midnight, I could have done a bit more.
Since Day 1 shut down the festival grounds, the few of us that got in for early camping were chomping at the bit to get going for the afters once the storm clouds finally broke. There were three main afters stages with plenty more renegade setups in the vibe village RV group campsites.
We started with 5am Trio at Camp Nowhere before Boogie.T stepped up a little after 1am. But after 15 minutes, we had to skedaddle to the Renegade NYC setup for Club Renegade afters hosting Disco Lines b2b Tape B (who both had their Friday sets rained out). The set was a lot of fun and people were all in the mood to dance.
Tape B then played another full hour with a bunch of his new hype stuff from his festival set. It was exactly what we needed to make up for the missed day. Heart rate was high, as were the vibes!
We bounced back and forth between the two main afters stages a few more times. Another treat was a back to back from Tvboo and Inzo. Hands down my favorite set of the afters was the second set from Tape B, where he played a much more downtempo and chilled out set. It fit the vibes perfectly for 4am and was the perfect sendoff for a few hours of slumber.
Conditions weren't ideal, but still much improved after some time under the blazing hot summer sun. Most of the stage areas were fully operational, but some of the passages between the stages were a bit muddy, and especially the Air Stage in the woods. No matter to us, outfitted in our new WalMart rubbers, we were ready to take on all the mud and muck.
The woods on site look especially cool at night under blacklight. They set up a bunch of different webs for people to relax in during the festival. Another nice touch was the inspirational messages tucked away along the different trails. Here are two of my favorites:
The lineup on Saturday was stacked. We saw Wreckno at Water Stage, then set up at Fire Stage for Matroda. Then we booked it into the woods for Slander's Before Dawn techno set at Air Stage.
We returned to Fire Stage for the end of AC Slater and Chris Lorenzo doing a b2b Fly With Us set, and caught a breathtaking fireworks display. I know you'd be slumming in web2, but if you want to check out video footage of the event, you can find all the goodies @MOONLVNDING on all socials and web
We finished the night with LSDream and Excision at Earth Stage, but I'll leave that for tomorrow since it happened after midnight. Ahoy from all the bass pirates aboard the ship!! Until next time...
