Nike ain't lying when they say Cole Palmer is scary good. He might have played the best game of his life on Sunday, against the best team in world soccer. Two goals and an assist in the final to lead Chelsea past PSG to win the Club World Cup.
The game started at 3pm, so you can see how I started my commute to Manhattan a touch early, to make sure I got to the pub with enough time to snag a proper spot to watch the final. All my best mates were at the game over the Hudson River in New Jersey, but I just didn't have the drive to go after being at the semifinal in person.
The celebration at the pub for such a resounding victory against the best club in the world was unmatched. Up 3-0 at the half, we were jubilant as we streamed out of our basement lair to have a smoke and share a song. NYC even lit up the Empire State Building blue to honor Chelsea, the Champions of the World.
Well... that was the review I wrote for last Sunday, but it never saved and I had an incredibly lazy week after the huge win. Champions of the World!!
Gotta get more consistent with these steps while I'm off from work. It is all or nothing based on how much I've been dancing. With the Brooklyn Mirage closed all season, there's definitely been less dancing. I miss it...
