Monday turned into a maddening 24-hour travel day to get out to Shambhala music festival. My flight from Newark to Dallas to Spokane was scheduled at 5.30am, so it was too early for the first bus in the morning. I had to take the last bus Sunday night (well 1.30am Monday), which meant leaving my apartment with the luggage at 12.15am to get the subway to Port Authority.
About 15 minutes after finally arriving to Newark Airport at 2.15am, I got a message my flight was delayed from 5.30 to 7am. That extra 90 minutes meant I would miss my connecting flight. Yikes!
My 11.30am arrival turned into two more flights and a 5.15pm arrival instead. Wooooof! Always big regret coming to Newark. So instead to Phoenix then Seattle to Spokane. Fortunately, my partner's flight also got delayed (only an hour to 7.15pm). That allowed me just enough time to pick up the rental, get a fresh haircut and make a quick stop at Costco for some festival camping essentials.
Jerky, Coconut water, Dates, RXbars, Protein powder. That gets me pretty far these days.
But from Spokane, it was still 3 hours to the Canadian border. We got some dinner and met up with the other car couple we planned our trip with for the festival. We got to the border right around midnight, so I'll bid you goodnight. Until next time...
