It has been 12 weeks since my dad's fall and his patella broke. The stretch enduring this journey if without the Grace of God I think all of us would have been truly burnt out.
The one good thing that #Malaysia still has is the medical facility.
True enough it is like a haven of "hospital vacation" packages for "medical assistant tourists" from overseas , which is totally overly expensive for B40 (bottom 40% income range), the general hospital for citizens and PR , especially senior citizens, are still well available with more young medical officers and doctors graduated to the field these days.
All we need is patience, and a gratitude heart towards them. Our medical team especially in the high intense work environment doesn't need money spat at them. Just a simple "Thank you doctor" and willing to understand that they are still doing their best despite tiredness really boost their energy and hold on their oat why they sacrifice their time and energy in the medical profession.
We encountered a few moments when we can see their countenance change when we give a word of encouragement, willing to work with them and listen intently. This helps the entire process faster.
Usually our endless wait for hours is because there are hundreds of patients they have to attend to.
The happy thing we see is that after 12 weeks the wire is still intact and the doctors are happy with the progress.
That's really good news!
Even having no place to sit and stand most of my time for 2 hours (while my dad is in the wheelchair) is still worth it. 🥳
Loads of calories burnt but after the whole day I ended up needing to so all the stretching to reduce my calves strain as well as my ankle. 😅
