Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was pretty busy, but it started just like most days with Kaia and Le Chat hanging out in the yard. I know it's a familiar scene in my posts, but I find it just too cool! Even better when Le Chat seems to be in a playful mood.
We didn't have as much time as a usual Saturday but we still started a walk, with a first stop behind the front yard. That's more exploration for the sisters.
Then, under the close supervision of a local squirrel, we headed to the forest for a quick loop.
Like I mentioned a few days ago, the puddles at the entrance are pretty much dry now, and green is even starting to grow.
We didn't have enough time for the usual multiple loops on the trails but Kaia took the lead and led us where she wanted in the forest.
I mentioned the pollen snow yesterday, it even entered inside the forest. Can you see all that white fluff on the ground?
There was really a lot in this area.
The second part of the day was really different with a concert in Detroit: Bloc Party at the Fox Theater. Full disclosure, we originally got tickets for that show because of the band opening for them: Metric. Except they had some disagreement and Metric dropped from the tour and got replaced by Blonde Redhead, a band that I heard was good but we knew nothing about it. We could have gotten our money back but decided to go anyways. We skipped the first band called Joan though. I know it's not cool to do that, not supporting a possibly very talented up-and-coming band. But it's just not possible to arrive as early as 7pm for the show. After a quick dinner and drinks at Hockeytown, just next door, we finally made it when Blonde Redhead had already started their set. We didn't really like it. They weren't bad, just not our style. And finally, Bloc Party!
Them, we liked!
The show was for their 20th Anniversary (damn, all these bands celebrating their anniversaries are making me feel so old!), so they played Silent Alarm album fully and some other hits.
Very good show and they seemed like a really laid-back band, not taking themselves too seriously.
And for a show at the Fox Theater, there's always a bonus, the venue itself! Very beautiful inside, although some people find it a little 'too much'.
I'm always impressed with all these details.
Well, that was a well balanced day. After the usual outdoor walk, we had a good time at the concert. Not my best step count though, but I guess almost 18k steps ain't that bad. Definitely enough for #poprzeczka as we're just starting the new month.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
