I tried this variation of lateral raises, I'm not sure what it is called, but "behind the butt lateral raises" sounds like a name that does justice to it. Lol. I absolutely fell in love with this exercise as it doesn't only hit the mid portion of your shoulders (lateral head), but it hits the rear and posterior side too, that is all three heads of your shoulders.
I also especially love the feeling on my rear delts, but I'll like to add that you should warm your shoulders up properly before doing this or else you might feel some pains.
This exercise also gives a mad stretch to the side delts that isn't easily gotten elsewhere, and if you know anything about exercise science you'll knoe that the stretch is the most important aspect of muscle building.
