The morning greeted me with golden light and a breeze that barely whispered. I walked the route through the palace gardens, circling Luiseninsel, where the silence was only broken by rippling water and the rustle of wings. Breathing in deep by the shore, I slipped into stillness and meditation, but I wasn’t alone. Four grey herons flew back and forth above the water and me like slow-motion arrows, while two cheeky beavers splashed here and there, stirring up stories from the stream. Catching a heron mid-flight felt like trying to trap thunder in a jar, it took patience, a steady hand, and several tries. But the shots, taken with just a phone’s telephoto lens, turned out surprisingly good, although i didn’t catch them from the front. I brought them along for you to enjoy. Later, for no clear reason, a stubborn headache shadowed me all day. Not fun, but still, the day had it‘s charm, soft, slow, and somehow satisfying.
Der Morgen empfing mich mit goldenem Licht und einem kaum hörbaren Wind. Ich ging die Route durch den Schlosspark, umrundete die Luiseninsel, wo das Wasser leise plätscherte und Flügelschläge die Stille zerschnitten. Am Ufer atmete ich tief ein, meditierte und fand Ruhe, aber ich war nicht allein. Vier Graureiher flogen übers Wasser hin und her und mich hinweg, als wollten sie Gemälde in die Luft malen, während zwei muntere Biber mit lautem Planschen hier und da ihre Bahnen zogen. Einen Reiher im Flug zu fotografieren war wie der Versuch, Blitzlicht in ein Marmeladenglas zu fangen, es brauchte Geduld, ruhige Hände und mehrere Anläufe. Doch die Bilder, mit der Telelinse meines Telefons gemacht, sind erstaunlich gut geworden obwohl ich sie nicht von vorne erwischt habe. Die habe ich euch hier zum staunen mitgebracht. Später plagte mich ohne erkennbaren Grund den ganzen Tag ein hartnäckiger Kopfschmerz. Nicht schön, aber der Tag war insgesamt ruhig, weich und auf eine seltsame Weise wohltuend.
