Sometimes slowing down is the only way forward. I slept in this morning, was long overdue, then stepped out later than usual into a damp, heavy-aired July day. The park greeted me with its earthy perfume, still clinging to yesterday’s rain. I walked my usual round across Luiseninsel, beating the predicted rain by a whisker. The air hung thick but kind, perfect for pausing. Down by the water, I let my breath lengthen, found stillness, and meditated longer than I had in weeks. No rush, no reason to run. Just breath, breeze, and the soft sound of leaves leaning into each other underneath the old Alder tree. I brought back a tiny treasure for you: a chicory flower, small, stubborn, and surprisingly stunning. Like a little burst of blue courage on a grey-skied morning.
Manchmal ist langsamer das einzig Richtige. Ich hab heute ausgeschlafen, längst fällig, bin dann später los als sonst, in einen feuchten, schwer atmenden Julimorgen. Der Schlosspark roch nach nassem Boden, als hätte der Regen noch nicht ganz losgelassen. Meine Runde über die Luiseninsel hab ich knapp vorm angesagten Regen gemacht. Die Luft war dick, aber freundlich, ideal zum Innehalten. Unten am Wasser hab ich tief durchgeatmet, innegehalten und so lange meditiert wie schon lange nicht mehr. Kein Stress, kein Müssen. Nur Atem, Blätterrauschen unter der alten Erle und die Ruhe zwischen den Momenten. Und ich hab euch was mitgebracht: eine kleine, feine Wegwartenblume, zartblau, zäh und wunderschön, wie ein Mutblitz an einem grauen Morgen.
