Hello everyone 😻,
Happy Monday and a very warm welcome to my report. We are onto a new week, new month of August and the stepping continued unabated💯.
So I woke up to a beautiful sunny🌞 day and went on my first walk around the neighbourhood. I did about twenty minutes then was back indoors handling the usual tasks of the day.
Later I settled down into X and youtube and also followed up on the trending stories of the day.
It did turn cloudy and rainy in the late afternoon but the sun shone through later at sunset.
My final walk saw me go for some errands around the city centre then a quick stop at the park before heading back home and calling it a day.
Let's now turn our attention to the trending stories.
In Gaza, the mass murder continued with 74 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting Hamas😿.
Meanwhile 36 Palestinians killed at the humanitarian food collection points😿. The hunger and starvation continues
No word yet on any ceasefire/ captives agreement.
Hamas released shocking video of two Israeli captives looking hungry and emaciated from the lack of food in Gaza.
Across the border more than 600 former Israeli security officials have called on Trump to end the war in Gaza. The officials including former Mossad and Shin bet chiefs made the appeal in a letter sent to Trump to try and convince Netanyahu to end the war.
In the other war, president Zelensky has visited Ukrainian soldiers fighting in the frontlines near Kharkiv. It has been revealed that Russia is using mercenaries from various countries in its invasion of Ukraine.
On Wednesday US special envoy, Steve Witkoff will be meeting with Russian officials in Moscow as a ceasefire is sought to stop the fighting.
Across the pond in the US, Trump has pledged to substantially raise US tariffs on India because they purchase oil from Russia. He did not specify the rate of the tariffs or when they would take effect. Adding that India did not care about the people killed by Russia in Ukraine, all they do is buy oil from Russia and sell for big profits.
Further down, Brazil supreme court has ordered house arrest for former president Jair Bolsonaro. He had attempted to overturn the presidential election results of 2022 and his supporters vandalized govt buildings🙀.
