The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest court in the country and is the most powerful court in the federal judiciary system. It is the final authority on determining the interpretation of laws in the country and can overturn laws which it deems as unconstitutional. Decisions made by the Supreme Court can also establish precedence for other courts to follow in the future. This makes the Supreme Court the supreme interpreter of the law within the United States’ government.
