I got up early as usual... I’m sure glad I did! The birds were singing in the woods. The sunshine was pouring down. And the trails were waiting! Time to head out, forget about the frozen world of winter, and get a bunch of fresh air!
Amazing! Just to be alive, free, and healthy!
Slipping on my five-fingers I’m off! I have been putting the gym bag beside the door and getting in the habit of bringing it with me. It’s working! Health and fitness is front of mind and that means I’m more likely to fit in extra sessions here and there. And these days this is a deliberate decision. With the pandemic raging all around its been all to easy to slump around the house. I knew I needed to change up the routine. It’s just to beautiful out there to let these days pass me by.
How are all of you doing? Have you managed to find creative ways to keep your health and fitness front of mind? What’s worked well for you?
The air is brisk but rapidly warming up with the sunshine all around. Squirrels 🐿 chatter, startled that someone like me is running on the off trail. It’s the narrow rooted ones that I like. Trail running off the beaten path. I’m pulled along feeling better and better as I go along!
The roots and light mud keep me on my toes. Zipping up and dipping down the trail leads me on! Adventure awaits around every corner and behind every tree standing tall. Logs litter the sides layered in thick moss.
This is what going on an #AdventureRun with my @Actifit tracker is all about! Here and there the trail becomes precarious so I slow it down to and #AdventureWalk eventually coming to the river and a bridge far off in the distance. Star climbing is next! #AdventureClimb
When all is said and done I’m feeling GREAT! Who wouldn’t want to make time to move like this, soak up nature, and be ALIVE! I’m going to keep putting my gym bag and fitness gear beside the door. This has got to happen more often!

10,000 steps before 10am! Done and done!
Now this has got me thinking... What’s the next step for @AdventureReady? My goal is to further support the @Actifit Project by rewarding people for being intentional with their health and fitness. Sooooooo I have been doing a lot of thinking about that. What do you all think about another fitness initiative?
I think the next badge and reward system we are going to put together is going to be the #Win Initiative where people will be rewarded for reaching 10,000 steps before 10pm. Of course proof of #Win will need to be provided with the usual screen capture but that’s easy right! Doctors everywhere are recommending people get a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. This is a completely achievable accomplishment and it is also the step count that @Actifit rewards 100% AFIT at.
All Actifit reports registering 10,000 steps before 10pm, providing the required screen capture proof of the @Actifit dApp showing steps and time, and containing the #Win hashtag will be eligible for a new badge (that I’m currently creating in my digital workshop RIGHT NOW! 😁) and an up-vote from the @AdventureReady account (amount to be determined).
Currently all #AutomaticWin’s get 100% up-votes so I think it will be fair if #Win’s get 10% up-votes... but I’m still figuring all this out.
