We Are Alive And Thriving - My Actifit Report Card: August 22 2022

Good evening everyone,

Hope you are all having a good time this evening.

The weather has been lovely today, a bit of sun and cool breeze throughout the day. It is obvious that the end of one season is the beginning of another, ten days from now, this season will be over and a new one will commence immediately. The one I seem not to get accustomed to regardless of the years I have been here. The sunny weather in Mali is not friendly, last year the heat went as high as 44 degree celcius, that is 10% higher than normal 😀.

To make things worst, we are deprived of constant power supply during the hot season. After taking all these into consideration, I have made plans for solar energy installation. This is very costly according to the technician I disccused with today. Howbeit, my mind is made up and there's no going back on this.

I worked full day today because the bakery had labour shortage. Two of my workers who were secondary school student just gained admission to the University. They wish to focus on studies, though their departure was sudden as they only informed me two weeks ago, the decision Is commendable and I am very happy for them.

Nevertheless, there are candidates already waiting to fill the position, but I have to tread with caution. No matter the size of a bakery, staff hiring is very delicate. If you mistakenly employ the wrong people, you might end up in hot water. Potential bakery workers have to be thoroughly screened and put on trial before employment.

I came back very early, spent little time with the children before doing my step count.
