What do you do when the forecast says 33 Celsius with humidity making it feel over 40? (91 feels like 105 in freedom units). Grab 6000 newspapers and hit the town!
The day started damn early as in before @davedickeyyall and the first #morningbowl early. One 24 Celsius but felt much warmer than that as I hit the country roads.
First cut hay and wheat/straw are already harvested, beans are knee high and corn over shoulder height. We are right in the middle of a region that produces more food than any other in Canada.
Main st is a little lighter than normal because of the heat. Neat shops including this boarded up one going through renovations. A classic restaurant with a brand new art piece for decoration while it becomes something else.
A diner that is a client is bustling for lunch!
Hot as hell but memories of the super cold snap this past winter help you get over it quick. No sign of those thunderstorms possible on the forecast. Great day to sit on a patio downtown.
I managed to capture another for my upcoming series, “Delivery guys blocking traffic”. Unbelievable they would block a whole main road in the middle of the busy season. Happens all the time.
Annie is one of the plays going on this summer. Might seem familiar to some folks.
They do a nice job keeping the old city hall looking regal for the tourists. Not sure if you can see it but there is a homeless guy hunkered down just to the left of the steps. Damn hot day to be living rough!
This guy doesn’t care what temperature it is and has as much fun in +32 as he does -32. A little muddy in the feet but he washes them off in the little pools when he cools off.
Oh! I guess it was 34 Celsius then!
This thundershowers eventually did head in this direction and made the radar look like a car crash.
I jumped to the back yard to do a little pruning before what I hoped would be a deluge. The garden just loves rainwater and was due for a soaking.
Now to put my feet up, have a beer, and wonder if these 15k steps have brought me into the top 400 @actifit users on the planet.
Either way, plenty of community-connecting local news distributed and a beautiful summer day in small town Canada.
