Moving forward with my previous post of BTS cell site visit for new GSM site commissioning in a suburban area of Mastung, I am facing a MW TXN planning and design issue due to a terrain between the two hops and due to this design issue, MW Antenna was mounted on a monopole on top of the tower to increase the height so that to avoid the terrain and thus to resolve line of sight (LOS) issue in order to achieve the desired received signal level (RSL) i.e., -44 dBm as shown in below taken image.
However, in order to avoid the terrain and increase the height of the commission MW link, another challenge was faced and due to wind, the link started fluctuating due to flexibility of the installed monopole and RSL started deviating from the desired limit.
In order to cope with this new challenge, I have got two different ideas as follows:
Idea 1:
Tower height on both near and far end needs to be increased simply up to 5 meters (which is feasible) and MW dish to be installed properly for permanent resolution.
Idea 2:
Additional pole should be installed on both near and far end sites in parallel to already installed pole and make an H type support for additional support. MW Antenna to be installed and fixed in the center of both the poles on horizontal pole as per below diagram and antenna should be supported with 2 supporting rods on both the vertical poles.
RSL needs further improvement (currently -46dBm achieved)
Note that for better results and safety, it is recommended that I should take support from professional civil designer as well(Who can suggest a better alternate solution)
