Hello and happy festivities to everyone in the Hive community!
I'm here with my first ever #threetunetuesday post and we're going straight in with a festive edition! Being a lifelong metalhead, the Xmas period isn't often a big focal point in the metal music calendar. That being said, I always manage to sneak a few tunes on while nobody is paying attention. 😈
Here are my 3 picks, hopefully they can bring some festive cheer to my metal brothers and sisters out there who are struggling through this particularly jovial time of year! 🤣
#1 Dio, Tony Iommi, Rudy Sarzo & Simon Wright - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Two titans of heavy metal in Ronnie James Dio & Black Sabbath riffmaster Tony Iommi take this classic English Christmas song and spin it into an operatic doom-laden powerhouse!
The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)
The first and best of The Darkness' trio of Xmas releases. This remains my favourite festive song both in the house or when I've been lucky enough to see them live in my local city of Newcastle.
KoRn - Kidnap The Sandy Claws
Nu-Metal founding fathers Korn's adaptation of the music from the Tim Burton classic 'A Nightmare Before Christmas' bares all of the trademark Korn sounds, from the slap bass to chunky riffs, this one will have you headbanging so hard that you'll upend your trifle!
Thank you all for reading the post & have a great festive season wherever you are celebrating from in the world! Special thanks to my friends in #TheAlliance, see you all soon!
