Hey music lovers! In today's post I felt like bringing you a Review of my beloved Joji, and I think the best one I can upload right now is from his most recent album, SMITHEREENS, which like any Joji song left me lying on the floor crying, melancholy and shitty thinking about my love life.

The first thing you can notice in the album is its abstract cover, a mixture of quite soft colors that go practically hand in hand with the theme of the album, which presents us with an aura of tranquility and peace typical of the Lo-Fi genre and Joji in general. The cover is not a totally complex work to understand, but in itself, it is beautiful to think about it while listening to the album, for managing to convey the same auras that transmits each song on the album.
SMITHEREENS is a total journey, you can simply leave it on your speakers or on your headphones and lie down and listen to it with your eyes closed, you will feel an incredible peace, it is a very soft and easy to digest album. The sounds of the album are all on the same wavelength, without many abrupt changes and revolve within the same theme of the album.

The album despite being really beautiful, and having beautiful heartbreak lyrics, doesn't come out of Joji's usual, the same sounds, the same themes in every song, never innovating on anything. SMITHEREENS is pretty much more of the same within Joji's catalog, sad songs and quiet sounds. Besides this, practically the whole album is the same, despite having more beautiful songs than others, it practically keeps the same sounds throughout SMITHEREENS and it seems as if you only put a single song on loop for half an hour, because practically everything sounds the same.
Out of everything mentioned before, it's a short, fast and very enjoyable album. SMITHEREENS is made to be consumed, but not to be remembered, like most of today's music. I am a fan of Joji and love his music, however I feel he has much more to give to music than this album.

SMITHEREENS has beautiful songs, and I think the most outstanding one is Glimpse of us, the song that starts the album. It has a characteristic piano sound that I keep in my heart along with this great song, and its lyrics make me feel quite identified and I think it is what stands out the most within the whole song. All the lyrics tell the story of a person who has not gotten over someone, with whom he is still deeply in love and who practically changed the sadness of his life and turned it into happiness even though he is in another love relationship and is still thinking about his previous crush, which he still does not get over and still sees in his eyes, the memory of that other love.
Glimpse of us gained incredible fame due to being a single released long before the release of the album, and no wonder, it is a totally beautiful song, like all the songs on the album, which are a perfect excuse to cry remembering your old failed love.

¡Hey amantes de la música! En el post de hoy tenía ganas de traerles una Review de mi amado Joji, y creo que la mejor que puedo subir ahora mismo es de su más reciente álbum, SMITHEREENS, el cual como cualquier canción de Joji me dejó tirado en el suelo llorando, melancólico y hecho mierda pensando en mi vida amorosa.

Lo primero que se puede notar en el álbum es su portada abstracta, una mezcla de colores bastante suaves y que van prácticamente de la mano con el tema del álbum, el cual nos presenta un aura de tranquilidad y paz propias del género Lo-Fi y de Joji en general. La portada no es una obra totalmente compleja de entender, pero de por sí, es hermosa al pensar en ella mientras escuchamos el álbum, por lograr transmitirnos las mismas auras que nos transmite cada canción del álbum.
SMITHEREENS es un viaje total, simplemente puedes dejarlo puesto en tus bocinas o en tus audífonos y acostarte a escucharlo con los ojos cerrados, sentirás una paz increíble, es un álbum bastante suave y fácil de digerir. Los sonidos del mismo están todos por la misma onda, sin muchos cambios bruscos y giran dentro de la misma temática del álbum.

El álbum a pesar de ser realmente bello, y tener letras de desamor hermosas, no sale de lo común de Joji, los mismos sonidos, los mismos temas en cada canción, nunca innova en nada. SMITHEREENS es prácticamente más de lo mismo dentro del catálogo de Joji, canciones tristes y sonidos tranquilos. Además de esto, prácticamente todo el álbum es lo mismo, a pesar de tener canciones más hermosas que otras, prácticamente conserva los mismos sonidos durante todo SMITHEREENS y parece como si solo pusieras una sola canción en loop por media hora, porque prácticamente suena todo igual.
Fuera de todo lo mencionado antes, es un álbum corto, rápido y muy disfrutable. SMITHEREENS está hecho para ser consumido, más no para ser recordado, como mayor parte de la música actual. Soy fan de Joji y amo su música, sin embargo siento que tiene mucho más que dar para la música que este álbum.

SMITHEREENS tiene canciones bellísimas, y creo que la más destacable es Glimpse of us, canción con la cual empieza el álbum. Ésta, tiene un característico sonido de piano que mantengo en mi corazón junto con esta gran canción, y su letra me hace sentirme bastante identificado y creo que es lo que más destaca dentro de toda la canción. Toda la letra cuenta la historia de una persona que no ha superado a alguien, de quien sigue profundamente enamorado y que prácticamente cambió la tristeza de su vida y la volvió felicidad a pesar de que está en otra relación amorosa y aún así está pensando en la su anterior enamoramiento, que aún no supera y sigue viendo en sus ojos, el recuerdo de ese otro amor.
Glimpse of us agarró una fama increíble debido a ser un sencillo lanzado mucho antes del lanzamiento del álbum, y no es de menos, es una canción totalmente hermosa, al igual que todas las del álbum, que son una perfecta excusa para llorar recordando a tu antiguo amor fallido.
