As I have read, listening classical music and choir music at the beginning of the day helps to keep your nervous system relaxed throughout the day. As I am a lover of choral music (in fact, I belong to a choir) I would like to share with you today three songs performed by choirs that I personally like very much.
Según he leído, escuchar música clásica y música de coros al inicio del día ayuda a mantener tu sistema nervioso relajado a lo largo de la jornada. Como soy amante de la música coral (de hecho, pertenezco a un coro) quisiera compartirles hoy tres canciones interpretadas por coros que en lo personal me gustan mucho.
O Magnum Mysterium - Javier Busto
This song belongs to what is known as sacred music, that is music that's commonly sung in churches and that has biblical texts. This piece speaks about the great mystery, which we can feel in our own skin from the first chord progressions. I confess that it is a song that I even use to manifest, because at the end, when the whole chorus says "Hallelujah" it is inevitable to have the creeps and get excited.
Esta canción pertenece a lo que se conoce como música sacra, es decir, música que es comúnmente cantada en iglesias y que tiene textos bíblicos. Esta pieza habla del gran misterio, cosa que podemos sentir en nuestra propia piel desde las primeras progresiones de acordes. Confieso que es una canción que incluso uso para manifestar, porque al final, cuando todo el coro dice "Aleluya" es inevitable tener los pelos de punta y emocionarse.
Northern Lights - Ola Gjeilo
Since I heard his arrangement of the "Ubi Caritas", Ola Gjeilo became one of my favorite composers. The song I recommend to you is "Northern Lights". Although its text is in Latin, this piece is not exactly sacred, but a love song. When we read the translation of the text we understand that it is about the deep admiration that one has for a beloved person, to the point of loving them in their totality. A jewel!
Desde que escuché su arreglo del "Ubi Caritas", Ola Gjeilo se convirtió en uno de mis compositores favoritos. No obstante, la canción que les recomiendo es "Northern Lights". A pesar de que su texto está en latín, esta pieza no es precisamente sacra, sino una canción de amor. Cuando leemos la traducción del texto comprendemos que se trata de la profunda admiración que se tiene hacia una persona amada, al punto de quererla en su totalidad. ¡Una joya!
Segalariak - Josu Elberdin
This song is definitely great to start your day. It is a festive piece, the text of which is in a language I do not know, but even that cultural barrier does not prevent the work from radiating its joy to us. It is a festive song with a very moving rhythm that catches us from beginning to end and makes us float on our seats.
Esta canción definitivamente es excelente para comenzar tu día. Es una pieza festiva, cuyo texto está en un idioma que desconozco, pero ni siquiera esa barrera cultural impide que la obra nos irradie con su alegría. Se trata de una canción festiva con un ritmo muy movido que nos atrapa desde principio a fin y nos pone a flotar sobre nuestros asientos.
Bonus Track: Iré a Santiago - Roberto Varela
For my little national pride, I really needed to mention this play. "Iré a Santiago" takes the text of the writer Federico García Lorca to make us vibrate to the rhythm of son. This composition is especially dedicated to Electo Silva and the Orfeón Santiago Choir. That is why I share with you one of the most recent interpretations of this work by Orfeón Santiago himself, who is one of the most important choirs in all of Cuba.
Por mi pequeño orgullo nacional, necesitaba realmente mencionar esta obra. Iré a Santiago toma el texto del escritor Federico García Lorca para hacernos vibrar a ritmo de son. Esta composición está especialmente dedicada a Electo Silva y al Coro Orfeón Santiago. Por eso mismo les comparto una de las más recientes interpretaciones de esta obra por el propio Orfeón Santiago, que es uno de los coros más importantes de toda Cuba.
