The Fur is a dream pop indie band ideal to brighten up your days with upbeat melodies and catchy bass lines. It is currently formed by Taiwanese Savanna (vocals) and Zero (guitar).
Despite being a Taiwanese band The Fur presents English lyrics, something totally understandable to be able to easily export their music to all parts of the world, which they have achieved, because although they are not yet part of the mainstream they have been able to tour in Asia and Europe.

The Fur es una banda indie de dream pop ideal para alegrar tus días con melodías animadas y líneas de bajo pegajosas. Actualmente es conformada por los taiwaneses Savanna (voces) y Zero (guitarra).
A pesar de ser una banda taiwanesa The Fur presenta letras en ingles, algo totalmente comprensible para poder exportar fácilmente su música a todas partes del mundo, cosa que han conseguido, pues aunque aún no forman parte del mainstream han logrado girar por Asia y Europa.
Debut
Hicieron su debut en el 2016 con el single “Final Defense”, un tema compuesto por arpegios dulces, sintetizadores brillantes y una guitarra que varía entre el sonido limpio y la distorsión.
En este tema los cambios entre la sección A y la sección B son muy marcados, algo que puede parecer un poco inexperto, pero aun así es un buen tema.
They made their debut in 2016 with the single "Final Defense ", a track composed of sweet arpeggios, bright synths and a guitar that varies between clean sound and distortion.
In this track the changes between the A section and the B section are very marked, something that may seem a bit inexperienced, but it's still a good track.

Hasta la fecha tienen dos álbumes: Town (2018) y Serene Reminder (2020), además de un EP con dos canciones llamado Best Comedy (2019). Fue con “Movie Star”, una de las canciones de este EP, que escuché The Fur por primera vez.
To date they have two albums: Town (2018) and Serene Reminder (2020), plus a two-song EP called Best Comedy (2019). It was with "Movie Star ", one of the songs on this EP, that I heard The Fur for the first time.

Town
Town está conformado por 7 temas que se caracterizan por tener sintetizadores retro y guitarras al estilo Mac Demarco.
Mis temas favoritos son:
“Short Stay” un dream pop bastante alegre y movido.
“We Can Dance” que a mi parecer es el hit del álbum, siendo el más pesado ya que incluye una batería acústica y secciones con guitarra en distorsión.
“Blueberry”, el tema más relajado y dream pop de todos, siendo el único totalmente instrumental.
Town is made up of 7 tracks that are characterized by retro synthesizers and guitars in the Mac Demarco style.
My favorite tracks are:
"Short Stay" a quite happy and moving dream pop.
"We Can Dance" which in my opinion is the hit of the album, being the heaviest as it includes acoustic drums and distorted guitar sections.
"Blueberry", the most relaxed and dream pop song of all, being the only one totally instrumental.

Serene Reminder
Por otra parte Serene Reminder tiene composiciones más calmadas en comparación con las de Town. Acá la voz y el bajo tienen mayor presencia y la guitarra cambia su sonido, sin tener distorsión ni sonoridad al estilo de Mac.
Tiene una paleta de ritmos más amplia, incluyendo pequeños detalles de bossa nova en algunos temas. El sonido dream pop se mantiene en el sintetizador pero al haber mayor presencia de sonidos acústicos la atmósfera del disco es un poco mas variada, conservando el mood relajado pero no únicamente orientado al dream. Se expanden.
On the other hand, Serene Reminder has calmer compositions compared to Town. Here the vocals and bass have more presence and the guitar changes its sound, without distortion or Mac-style sonority.
It has a wider palette of rhythms, including small bossa nova details in some tracks. The dream pop sound is maintained in the synthesizer but with a greater presence of acoustic sounds the atmosphere of the album is a little more varied, keeping the relaxed mood but not only dream oriented. They expand.
Mis temas favoritos son:
“Stay with Me” un canción donde la voz destaca y la línea de bajo construye un excelente groove de funk.
“Julie”, que es un tema dulce que me transporta a una atardecer en la playa gracias a los detalles de bossa nova que posee.
Y por último “Oh Why” que es mi favorito entre todos, posee sintetizadores que crean ese sonido dream pop, pausas y caídas que le dan mucho dinamismo al tema y una línea de bajo poderosa que da ganas de bailar.
My favorite tracks are:
"Stay with Me" a song where the vocals stand out and the bass line builds an excellent funk groove.
"Julie", which is a sweet track that transports me to a sunset on the beach thanks to the bossa nova details it has.
And finally "Oh Why" which is my favorite of all, it has synthesizers that create that dream pop sound, pauses and drops that give a lot of dynamism to the song and a powerful bass line that makes you want to dance.

Cuando escucho The Fur mi mente dibuja atardecer color rosa o figuras llenas de escarcha, esto debido a su sonido dream y relajado. Creo que si son fans de bandas como The Marias es probable que The Fur también les guste.
Esta banda aun se encuentra surgiendo por lo que no tienen muchos videos musicales, apenas cuentan con nueve mil seguidores en Instagram y menos de cien mil vistas en la mayoría de sus videos, así que si les gustó su música acá les dejo las redes de la banda y los invito a seguirlos y apoyarlos.

When I listen to The Fur my mind draws pink sunset or frost filled figures, this because of their dreamy and relaxed sound. I think if you are fans of bands like The Marias you will probably like The Fur as well.
This band is still emerging so they don't have many music videos, they barely have nine thousand followers on Instagram and less than a hundred thousand views in most of their videos, so if you liked their music here I leave you the band's networks and I invite you to follow and support them.
